  1. I'm surprised to report that this Burger King is actually worse than the one on Beaver St.  The space it occupies (narrow, subterranean) is not suited for a restaurant of any kind.  As you descend the stairs, it is much like getting on the subway–dirty, replete with homeless people, people packed in like sardines in a can.  Despite a long counter space, only two cashiers were in operation during a busy lunchtime in an area filled with tourists and local businesspeople.  The cashiers were slow as molasses and took time to indulge customers who had great difficulty with the ten options on the menu.  In spite of this indulgence, one cashier could not get her brain around a simple alteration (lettuce and tomato only) couped with an upgrade to "medium."  I didn't realize that my instructions weren't heeded until I was back at my desk, because it seemed impossible to eat in there without losing one's appetite.  Another worker called out my order number  yet continued to indulge these other  customer's questions about their later order which was not yet ready.  It took 3-5 assertions on my part of ownership of the bag for it to be handed over.  Finally, they have a busted icee machine with no sign on it.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who goes to Burger King mainly for the frozen coke and does not enjoy waiting on a long line only to get to the front and find out the machine is not in operation.
Note to Burger King national: FIX THE ICEE MACHINES IN ALL FRANCHISES OR STOP OFFERING THAT PRODUCT.
Note to people in lower Manhattan seeking fast food: Go the McDonald's next door for better space and better taste.

  2. Once again, I wave the banner of Burger King, my favorite fast food restaurant!

Wow – this place has generated some negative reviews. My experience was somewhat different.

First off, this Burger King is underground – below street level. The entrance is street level, but then you descend down an escalator or the stairway (there is no up escalator) to the BK.

Not many folks eating in when I arrived about 5:30 pm. Just as I was ordering – the place started to get really busy, folks were pouring in. I decided to order a burger I've never tried – their relatively new "Smoky Cheddar Steakhouse XT™ Burger," (no fries) plus a medium Diet Coke. The Steakhouse XT contains a significantly thicker meat patty than a Whopper.

Burger was pretty darn good IMHO for a fast food burger. Meaty, hot, fresh, fresh veggies (lettuce, onions, and tomato). I was pleasantly full after wolfing it.

This BK has a number of Windows-based PCs along one wall for folks to use to access the internet. I'm assuming their was a fee to use them. Four large flat screen HD TVs adorn the walls and were showing the Chicago vs. Atlanta baseball game while I was eating. Overall, the place has a strange, slightly futuristic institutional feel to it.

  3. Only came in here to use the bathroom because the 9/11 Memorial doesn't have Any!  Separate lines for men & women – each only has 1 toilet/1 sink!
