I just experienced the most comical display of unprofessionalism I have seen at a Burger King. First let me preface by saying my husband and I LOVE BK and dine there on a weekly basis (post gym food haha). We like the 490 US 46 location because of it's close proximity to our gym and their renovations. We even had the pleasure of meeting the new franchise owner who introduced himself and was kind. If only he knew the people he had working for him…
On 12/15 around 7:30pm, I went through the drive thru at this location to order two Whopper meals and a value sandwich. I had to repeat the order multiple times to the person taking it but figured nothing of it so long as it was right. I get to the window and show him my coupon where he begins to get snappy as I failed to mention it prior to ordering. I apologized though he continued to complain about it saying it would hold up the line and what he had to do. Prior to me driving up, I waited several minutes for the car in front of me to get his order…I will assume this guy was just slow. Well it took all of 90 secs for him to get things fixed where I gave him my money, BUT rather than leave it at that he needs to scold me on revealing I had a coupon. At this point, I tell him I heard him the first time and it didn't take that long to fix, to which he continued to complain so I drove off. Talk about professionalism.
I pulled over to check my order and everything was perfect except I asked for satisfries instead of regular ones. I go into the restaurant and wait for this guy to come to the count to explain the mix up – not bringing up our encounter. He then tells me it's an additional 1.25 (with the coupon I paid .30 upcharge for each meal) and that I didn't say I wanted them. He then brings up the coupon again! At this point I'm boiling but trying to keep calm as I'm 9 mo pregnant and there are many other patrons around. I inform him that if he stopped complaining about the coupon and actually listened to my order the first time without me having to repeat myself, he would have heard satisfries, but he wants to stop what he's doing including taking drive through orders to argue. I then ask if he's the manager on duty to which he says yes and poiny out how unprofessional he is acting to a paying customer and his employees under his management. That seemed to do the trick after going back and forth (in his tantrum he snatched my food and was going to throw it out – I had to plead not to waste it as I just wanted the right fries). It was an unnecessary scene, I had just come from the gym and wanted to get my correct food and go. Yet it turned into a soap opera in front of others…I am embarrassed for this guy.
Judging by the other Yelp review about a disrespectful night manager, I wonder if it's the same guy…
