Burger Village
“I have been a longtime customer of Bareburger (first the ones in Queens and then the much more local to me Great Neck location) for many years.”
“Topped with the creamsicle shake, a side of frings (1/2 fries, 1/2 onion rings, w/ the house special sauce ), awesome service…”
“They have some pretty sweet selections: elk, ostrich, boar, lamb, etc. I'm particularly interested in the ostrich meat.”

saw this place on yelp and had been dying to check it out. we've hit up every burger place on long island, so it only made sense to come here too. we were in the area and wanted to go out for lunch. I was ecstatic they had a shirley temple you could order! yes I'm 32 and I love a shirley temple 🙂 I mean when do I ever get to order that lol…. anyway my burger was delicious, my hubs had a elk burger and loved it also. of course it's a lot like bareburger but I always like non chain places better…..
the fries were delicious also and come up 2 dipping sauces which is great considering I love ranch and my hubs likes spicy stuff….. my hubs wants to go back to try the ostrich burger so we will be back one day….
I decided to try Burger Village based upon the positive reviews I read here, so we went on a Saturday for lunch. The place is nice, cool rustic looking decor, comfortable. Although, we were the only table in the restaurant which was really weird. Nor did anyone come in during the time we were there.
I had the bison burger which was just ok, not bad, not great. The fries were pretty good, but nothing memorable.
It also seemed weird like the host in the front was also our waiter, and it appeared given the fact that he disappeared after we ordered, that he might have been the cook as well? All in all a weird vibe to say the least.
I'd try Burger Village again, and give them another shot.
A coworker and I ordered lunch from here through Seamless last week. Burger Village is almost identical to Bareburger, in that they offer a wide variety of toppings and uncommon meats. Unfortunately, my elk burger and her ostrich burger just weren't worth the price. The whole wheat bun was so dry, I was almost convinced it was stale. I give them credit for having a delicious zesty house sauce to go along with our fries and onion rings, but I just don't understand why it took an hour and a half to get our food when our office is literally right down the road.
I ordered fries and salad for lunch. I know it's a weird combination but I was trying to balance my meal. Just kidding. What sold me was the positive reviews on Yelp and all these mouthwatering fries pictures.
Their Golden crispy fries are so delicious. Literally fried to perfection. The fries came with 2 dipping sauces of your choice. I got the Burger village signature sauce and a buttermilk ranch sauce.
The buttermilk tasted okay, nothing I was wowed by but their signature sauce was absolutely tasty. It was not too creamy and not too heavy. It had a nice spicy kick to it too. This sauce paired up so well with my fries. I was so addictive to the signature dip that I even used the leftovers for my salad. As for my salad, I liked it. It was fresh and portion was big.
Overall, I will be visiting their store soon to try out their burgers. Mmm burgers.
I'm basically just giving this place four stars because Bare Burger is down the street and is much better. This is your standard fru fru burger place with varied types of burgers, buns, and toppings. I had the basic beef burger with brioche bun with some mushrooms and other toppings. It was quite delicious and the service was pretty good but the atmosphere was lacking and bare burger is just overall a better place to go to. However, if for some reason you can't go to bare burger then you should come here for your fru fru burger fix. It was quite tasty, filling, reasonably priced, and with high quality ingredients!
We stopped in Great Neck for lunch while running some errands up-island. It was interesting to walk along Middle Neck Road–I had spent a fair amount of time in Great Neck as my mom grew up there and we would visit my grandparents. A lot of the shops were vacant, though some of the local pillars had weathered the storm like stately oak trees: United Floral, Camp & Campus, Infinity, Geno's, The Poultry Mart, etc. We walked into Burger Village as I was pretty sure a good decade ago there was another eatery there with a similar menu and the best Oreo fro-yo on the planet.
What confused us was that Burger Village looked a lot like Bareburger (which we opted against going to since we had both recently been to the one in Forest Hills) and had basically the same organic, unusual meat, etc. concept. The food, though, was better at Burger Village and a bit more simple. Maybe I don't want a collared green wrap or hemp bun, Bareburger! My burger salad at Burger Village was delicious, and we took advantage of the Yelp check-in deal which gave us a discount on our lunch.
Organic, every type of burger; lamb, bison, turkey, beef to veggie burger that comes with a pairing list that is wonderful. I opted for classic beef burger with arugula, blue cheese and some kind of spicy mustard. My other mom ordered classic beef burger and we had fries and a local beer on tap to wash it all down.
The place is cool. We went during lunchtime, it was mostly businessmen. Surprisingly not full. We were leaving when I noticed the outdoor seating so I peeked out back. On my next round.
Very similar to Bare Burger (which has a location nearby) but has its own charm as well. Wife and I enjoyed our burgers during our recent trip. It was VERY quiet when we stopped in for lunch on a weekday – there was, I believe, one other couple. Granted, we popped in after 1:00pm so it's possible the lunch rush had subsided by then.
Wife had the Bison Burger and I had the Boar Burger with the "Make a Mess" recommended signature pair. Both of us really enjoyed our meals but I have to say I was digging my wife's burger a tad more than my own, although I had no qualms whatsoever with mine. I ordered my burger "medium" and it was done just right. Wife's was medium well but was not all too dry. We shared a basket of onion rings which came with spicy ketchup. I washed it all down with a Cola which was "Handcrafted Organic Certified Sweetened".
We were definitely full after our meal and well into the evening but didn't feel like we had a brick sitting in our stomach. You can tell the quality was high and I am looking forward to coming back and trying one of their several other burgers. My wife approves as well and that says a lot because she's not a "burger gal" but she definitely loves Burger Village. That alone makes this spot a destination to which we will certainly return.
