Halal burgers. How can I resist…
I can't.
I had the classic (so that I can work my way up to the specials) burger and it was pretty good. The meat was juicy enough and flavorful.. I do wish there was some sort of special sauce spread. Not sure if they have it as an extra, if they do, I think it would add a good kick. Regardless, it was a good burger. Not out of this world good, but a …classic burger. Can't go wrong with it.
The truffle fries though are out of this world. Some of the best truffle fries I've had in a very long time. Would highly recommend that.
It's a tiny space inside and can get quite hot.. I think there's about 3/4 tiny tables and a bar off the wall with 2/3 stools. There's a great park nearby though; so on busier days, I would grab my food to go and enjoy it along with the great outdoors.
Halal food in burger form – a nice idea for the crowds of Macdougal street. Located up the stairs in a small spot with a few tables; the menu is simple, and turnaround is fast.
Got the regular burger with cheese and caramelized onions ($10.50) and truffle fries ($4). Order came out fairly quickly but they forgot my cheese. I told the cashier this, and she exclaimed I should of told her this beforehand. If the receipt was itemized I could have shown her, but no matter. Burger is about the size of my hand and fairly juicy for a thin patty. Truffle fries are your regular fare.
I like the quick service here and the simple menu. Burger is made well, yet not memorable one way or the other. If you really want halal meat in a different way, then this is your spot.
A new place on Macdougal street. Discovered it today and decided to give a try. I took the classic burger with pickled jalapeños and a side of fries. The burger was quite unassuming but really great! I was not expecting it to be more than 3 stars; turned out to be worth 4 stars. Fries were also nice. Would try it again another day.
Solid lamb burger! It's their popular burger. It didn't taste gamey at all. It was fresh and surprisingly spicy. It reminded me of Turkish adana kabobs. The inside of this shop is small but cozy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to come back here!
