I've had the Chinese-Mexican fusion type of food before because there is a similar place nearby school. With regards to the food, I think I like this place better. The prices are rather cheap for the variety and amount of food you get. It's roughly $4 for rice and chicken (or steak) and requesting cheese on it makes it even better once the salsa is poured on top.
I haven't had the opportunity to visit the actual place and experience what the service or ambiance is like at the store itself. It's unfortunate that the reason my rating dropped from about 4 stars to about 2.5 or 3 stars is that the order I made for delivery with my coworkers took almost an hour and a half to arrive. After an hour of waiting, my coworker had called to inquire as to if the delivery was on it's way but they replied by saying they were really busy with the lunch rush.
I understand that lunch rushes can get really bad especially if the place is good overall [based on previous reviews]. Even with that in mind, I still don't think an order should take nearly an hour and a half to deliver. My coworkers had mentioned that the previous times they've ordered from here it had never taken so long. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was just a really busy day. I'll give it a second try later and hopefully I won't be as disappointed.
I like this place. I've had the beef, chicken, and pinto bean tacos and all of them were tasty. However, the last time I went here, I ordered two beef tacos, and one pinto. Instead of that, I got four pinto bean tacos! Quite the mix-up, especially since the bean tacos are cheaper. I didn't bother going back, but I wish I had checked my bag before leaving! Otherwise, the food is decent, and it's a good standby for dinner! 🙂
The food is OK. It's made by Chinese people which is kinda weird, so we can't say its authentic Mexican. If you place a medium to large size order for delivery plan on something being wrong or missing. Yesterday they forgot 1 hard taco and they sent a coke when I asked for a sprite. They re-delivered the taco but did not bring the sprite. Why? because the lady on the phone said what am I going to do with the coke I sent you already! I Can't
The food is not authentic at all, and its average at best. However, it is very convenient for me. The owners are nice and the have memorized my order. It's sort of better than Taco Bell, but nowhere near as good as green cactus. It's worth a shot if you live nearby. The fajitas by the pound are pretty good.
I'm putting two reviews together because of college finals.
Environment: Clean, very polished. Walls are red, no Mexican decor whatsoever.
Service:…It's alright. I mean they are like military " What you want? How you like it? Okay, $10.95." I'm like damn, man can I get a good afternoon?
Food: Grilled Chicken Tacos, Grilled Steak Tacos, Steak Chimichangas with Yellow Rice, Black Beans & Guacamole.
Taste: Fresh. Meat is so flavorful and tender. Chimichanga is crispy and the steak inside is delicious.
Was not a big fan of the rice and beans though. I'm used to the moist West-Indian rice, not that dry rice brah!
Will I go there again?: Yes, it replaces my Chinese takeout. I'm just not about that rice (bleh)
