  1. I want to love Buttercooky, but it's hard to do.

The assortment of cakes, cookies, pastries on display is beautiful. Everything is aesthetically pleasing and looks delicious. But then I bite into a raspberry coconut croissant, and it's incredibly dry (crumbles into flakes) and burnt at the bottom. I eat the cookies and they're same as store-bought – nothing special, not too tasty. I eat the chocolate peanut butter cake, and it's much too sweet and unpleasantly rich.

Maybe they do some things well, but from the items I've tasted, I don't have a good opinion of Buttercooky's baked goods.

  2. Great baked goods (cookies! cakes! We love them all!), and a great place for coffee! They have a proper espresso system which I love, and they are really accommodating to my requests. I'd rather come here for my coffee than Starbucks down the street.

  3. the ice coffee here is great. my friend actually recommended this place for their coffee and took me here one time. but my real review is for my red velvet cake experience that i had the other day. so my friend and i bought red velvet for someone's birthday. we actually found out that it was red velvet-cheesecake cake after taking our first bite, and man oh man, was it just divine.

however, had i known that they were going to use a thick tip to write "happy birthday erin" on the cake, i would have asked them not to write anything at all. it ruined the sleek look of the cake, and it looked like a cake that you would pick up from the supermarket (not that there's anything wrong with supermarket cake), but if i wanted to pick up a cake from the supermarket, i would have just gone across the street to king kullen. they should train their employees to use a smaller tip when writing on cakes.

but i still give them four stars because that cake was just that good and so is there ice coffee.

  4. Nice little bakery in Manhasset that seems to have a very large selection of cakes, cookies, breads, macaroons and other pastries.  Had a red velvet cupcake, it was ok, a tad dry but not bad.  The chocolate mousse and the creme brûlée were not bad either.  Wanted to stick around and have them at one of their small tables but they were closing and were kind of giving us a subtle hint.  Order and get the f— out!  Staff was helpful still.  I'd go back to try other pastries.  The raspberry chocolate mousse cake had my name all over it.

  5. One of my favorite bakeries in fact I talked my sister into getting her wedding cake from here. Everything is good store is clean only one thing (being very big on desserts) that bothers me. The buttercream icing. Its more of a whip cream with butter flavoring. Gross.

  6. Overall 3 stars
    Food 3 stars
    Value 3 stars
    Service 3 stars
Will I be back? Not if i can help it.

    This review will be brief.

Everyone raves about buttercooky. maybe I'm missing something.  I've had their cakes at parties. Simply a "meh" from me.  So when I was requested to get cake(s) from here for a birthday, i thought I would test it out.  maybe it's just been the cakes people have ordered in the past?

We ordered a bunch of small cakes (enough to feed 1) and a small cheesecake (enough to feed 4-6).  Again, I wasn't impressed.  Better cakes can be had at other places, and more cheaply also.

Not impressed with the service either.  They didn't seem to know what their stock was, nor what was in the cakes.  While I was waiting, I heard the two guys contradict each other with their customers.

  7. I always go to this local spot for pastries for my staff and co-workers. The cakes are fresh and delicious.  They have a variety of treats. Not much of a spot to eat-in. Seating is very limited.

  8. WOW! walk in and see all the goodies!
cases filled with pretty pastry pretty cakes and cookies
lovely fresh baking smell as you walk in.
I bought what might have been the best pound cake ever perfect toasted crust and a pretty powdered sugar pattern…a extra touch that I really like
took a latte to drink on the way home it was really a good one
the cake was gone by the next day.
I can not say for sure all those yummy looking items will taste as yummy as that pound cake so I will go back for more.
