Never heard of Butterfly Bakeshop before my initial foray into the Limelight Marketplace. While the marketplace itself is a bit ho-hum, amid the $20 miniature wedding cake stall and the disappointingly dry Cupcake Stop's inventory, Butterfly's two layer red-velvet concoction with traditional cream cheese frosting did not disappoint. It was a bit sweeter than it needed to be but appropriately moist. Two people can easily share its generous serving size, a relative bargain at $4.25. We went with the traditional version of the red velvet offering rather than the one with toasted coconut frosting. The young man behind the counter suggested that next time we should try the "signature" small cake of which was vanilla cake with dulce de leche frosting. We will have to save that for another time if we manage to venture back to this mini-mall.
Cute cake place…there are fondant cakes that are a few hundred and you can order them. The cupcakes are fun and for bdays would be great but Im not actually sure how good they taste due to too much frosting… I like the area they are in general so i just walked by and looked at them. Def read the other reviews if you want advice about the treats and how they taste. A bit on the pricy side..
