Reminded of how I like this place after a recent Groupon-induced visit. Large portions = awesome leftovers. Service could stand to be a little better if dining in. Customers do want water and asking about 6 times doesn't really make a happy camper. Other than that def a good stop!
This review is more for the service rather than the food. I've had the food from here a few times (and it's great) but I've always done take out and never actually ate at the restaurant. One of the best Greek food in Queens.
So when I saw there was a Groupon for this place, I was so excited. The deal was $22 for a falafel appetizer, a hummus and eggplant dip, a mixed grill platter for 2 and 2 glasses of wine or beer. I came here with my family on a Friday night and was seated right away. When our waiter came over, I mentioned that I had a Groupon. He literally sighed and paused before taking our order. We used the Groupon and added a gyro and halloumi appetizer. The food came out pretty quick and it was really tasty. The mixed grill platter could have fed all 4 of us. But after the food came, no one bothered to check on us. I understand this isn't fine dining, but at least come over to see if everything is ok. The waiter was too busy talking to the non Groupon using diners. It even took 20 minutes to get the check. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! The service is awful!
What irks me the most is that the waiter looked over to our table to make sure we left a tip. I wish we didn't. I don't understand why a business bothers putting out Groupons if they're going to give attitude about using it. It's a shame that the Groupon is for dine in only, because I would've bought more. I doubt I'll return to dine in again.

What can I say about BZ Grill that people don't already know? Perhaps there are some folks that don't know that BZ has the absolute best chicken gyro sandwiches? Their pork gyro isn't shabby either. They have interesting fried potatoes that seem to always be crispy. Salads are average. The only downside is that sometimes you need to wait a while because they are so BZ.
Awesome Greek food, no frills kind of place. Nothing fancy, just good gyro platters and chicken souvlakis.
Gyros are $8 and platters $15, I was stuffed after the chicken souvlaki platter. I'll be back.
The pork gyro was the best I've ever had – a quasi-religious experience. The meat was the perfect combination of crispy and juicy, and it was very flavorful. The balance of the rest of the toppings was appropriate. I had already had a slice of pizza so my husband and I split one, and I regret that immensely. Highly recommended.
Simplicity/Mastery: When a restaurant know what they are good at and does it very well.
BZ Grill is straight forward with their food. There is no gimmick to lure you in or deceive you on their quality of the food. The physical appearance of the store front is not an accurate reflection of what is in the inside. It's more of a hidden gem. The curb appeal may deter others, but that only gives you more opportunities to visit. Once inside, you are able to look directly into the kitchen as they prepare your meal. Service is fast. Staff is friendly. The food is simple and delicious. I ordered the lunch special (gyro, fries and a soda for $ 10). I went with the pork gyro. The taste of the pork is well balance- a little juicy, a little crunchy w/ the char, not too much fat, a touch of salt, and just the right amount of flavor that you need to take a second bite. The gyro was neatly arranged- it can get messy at times. Overall, a great place to grab a bite to eat.
Ordered delivery tonight and overall it was delicious! The quality was good and I really enjoyed the meal I got. Delivery time was around 40 minutes and fell within their estimated arrival estimation range. If you're in the mood for Greek, you'll love this place!
