“Not sure why others did not rate higher, but this place is a steal for the money.”

“I always get egg whites, turkey and spinach on wheat toast which comes out to 5.17 after tax”

  1. Good food , friendly staff
Sausage egg & cheese on an everything bagel mmMMMMmm followed by mango dream smoothie , which is a pricey drink but worth it because it's fresh real fruit and the service was kind 🙂

  2. Don't get salad here! But the rest of food are pretty good!

I come here regularly to pick up lunch, I have to say, salad here is rip-off comparing to other deli or cafe in the area. However, other stuff like sushi, noddles,
    Sandwiches…etc are all very good.

The place is pretty clean with a few tables you can sit down, maybe because it's close to the 5th ave, it's slightly more expensive than similar places on Madison Ave.

  3. Cafe Alice is a midtown lunch hotspot. They offer a little bit of everything- chopped salads, hot food, sandwiches, breakfast pastries, fresh coffee, and more.

I stop here if I'm looking for comfort food for lunch, or if I'm looking for an alternative to the building cafeteria. Their hot food (think protein + two sides) option is actually pretty consistently delicious and the portions are big. The food quality is high for being an in-and-out setup, so, overall, I will keep coming back!

  4. One star for the friendly and nice deli guys. The place doesn't deserve any.

Extremely rude cashiers. They charged me one dollar more than usual, no explanation on the price increase, and the lady was acting very rude and arrogant. Also, no price tags on drinks and snacks, typical rip off, be aware.

  5. I'm updating my review here because I had the worst experience yesterday.

I ordered a steak salad and found a long black hair in it. I know, yuck. But it happens… And I didn't think anything of it, and I did what one would normally do in a situation like this…bring this to the cashier and politely mention this to her, (without anyone hearing). Well, the response I got from the cashier was far from pleasant and apologetic. She looked at me like I had 3 heads, and questioned what I saw. And then she's like "Well then just go get a new one!" I was like "um, yea now I don't want a salad and want my money back." The disgust of finding a hair in my salad was one thing, but it didn't help when the customer service was disgusting as well. The person who chopped my salad wasn't even a woman with long black hair. Ok I'm done with the salad… That was the last thing. And, officially done with this place. Vent over. Many other delis in the area to choose from.

  6. Mmmm burnt omelet. I stood there and watched as everyone else's order get completed and my omelet baked to death. I had to ask them to take it off the grill and pointed out that it was over cooked. They didn't care. Went to cashier and asked for a discount and got the "sorry I'm just a cashier I can't do nothing". So I just confirmed with her there was no customer service and she said she could get the manager. If I wasn't already waiting 10 mins too long I would have gone through the annoyance of speaking to a manager but couldn't spend the extra time. It shouldn't have gotten past the cook, especially after I said something. They should have offered to make a new one or at the least apologized…

  7. I wasted a meal in New York on this place. No, it wasn't an awful meal. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with my third choice of cheese because the staff rudely (maybe they weren't rude, maybe I'm just a southerner who doesn't understand things here) told me they were out of my first two choices. The probably with the cheesy (no pun intended) styled and named Cafe Alice (in Wonderland themed) is that it's just an Asian owned and Sysco foods stocked operation. I live in Dallas and guess what? Sysco has food there too and I'm sure I could find and overpriced grilled cheese sandwich with my first choice of cheese at home. Blah.

  8. Pastry knight finally finds his Holy Grail: The Green Pistachio Muffin.   Baked here.  Almondy.  Nice n green.  Answers some mysterious longing.
