So my friend decides to show me this spot because it reminds him of the cafes in Europe. It's quaint. The space is fairly small, and the decor is very homey. It looks like someone's home dine-in kitchen.
And I guess it is kinda like Europe since the clientele was all European. Macedonian specifically, since they all speak the same language as my friend. I had a Turkish Coffee and a hazelnut mousse. The Turkish coffee was excellent and kept me awake far longer than I wanted to be. The hazelnut mousse was very similar to the one they make at Gencarelli's, just a little less polished.
The menu also includes some lunch options. If you want a non-hipster, European style cafe, this is the spot.
Awesome eastern European café atmosphere. owner-operators are from Montenegro they play pop music in Serbo-Croatian and many of the customrs are speaking this language or from elsewhere in eastern Europe, as are the waitresses. Great Turkish coffee, cakes and baklava and a big seiection of Balkan style food and sandwiches. There is a large patio seating area out back surrounded by greenery, quite beautiful and lively on weekend nights. Also sidewalk seating and indoor seating if you want A/C or heat. Good fresh squeezed juice. A very distinctive and cool place, well worth a trip to Clifton to check out! Street parking.
