If ur looking for a flavorless brunch with bad service, come here.
Madeline was tasty, went well with my tasteless cafe au lait. Friend had poppy seed cake. Side of brioche toast was dry, served with cold butter. Jam is fresh and yummy.
Breakfast salmon crepe (didn't see on menu) is served with scrambled egg which needs a sauce as opposed to regular. Frittata is dry and cheese-less. Friend enjoyed her crepe madam. Budapest sandwich was just all right. 7 grain toast was good bread but slightly burnt.
Waitress was abrupt and rolled her eyes.
Came here for brunch with my mom who was visiting from out of state.
The service is really what makes me give them such a low rating. We waited with payment on the table for about 20 minutes. The place is relatively small so I don't understand why it took so long. No one asked how the food was.
The french toast was good, we also split the parfait but the spoons could not fit into the cup that it came in, very difficult to eat. I would not come back here, maybe they were understaffed, but no one seemed to even attempt to make our experience pleasant
Park slope has a lot of cafes – this my ish – me and cafes are best friends – so when I come to the slope I want to have something good – that's what you'd expect from this neighborhood so I won't have less.
My expectations were met when I came to cafe DaDa. It's a cozy, dim lit cafe. It has plenty of seats and serves lattes. I love a good latte of flat white and they got it here.
Unlike other cafes, here they have table service, that's a plus in my book. Server was cool. No complaints.
I got the brioche French toast and a flat white. It was interesting to see the fruit combo because they put on top strawberries and on top with diced pineapple and watermelon. I was surprised that they went well together.
Flat white was good too. Strong and bold. I had the latte here too on another day and that was nice as well.
So this place is defiantly worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
Awesome little cafe in Park Slope. Get the chocolate almond croissant.. it is one of the best pastries I've had. The coffee and iced chai latte ain't bad either. And if you're looking for something savory, try the frittata.
Ordered: Goat cheese breakfast sandwich on croissant and Chocolate croissant
Pros–The egg was cooked to perfection and was very hearty with its abundance of cheese and veggies. The croissants were flakey, buttery and crispy. Some of the best croissants I've had to date.
Cons–The seating was very cramped. Limited menu.
Well, we came here for Friday brunch and this is how it went down.
I walked in and saw they weren't super full so I requested to sit at a table for 4. They said no, because someone might come in (Note there are a lot of 4 tables available and only one 2 table)
The table they sat us in was squashed between two other tables and of course a loud baby on one side.
Anyways, on to the food. We waited a while until somebody came to serve us. The waiter was this super corny guy who's jokes were getting old. Whatever we asked for he said no to in a stupid way even though he was going to get it for us. Oh and when I started taking photos of my food he's like we don't allow that here. (Joking of course) But come on man, you're not funny.
We ordered the Cafe Dada omelet and the brioche french toast. Of course coffee too. He brought over the coffees first, they were alright. Not majorly strong. He mentioned hot chocolate at some point which got me in the mood of that so I ordered one. Don't bother ordering that if you go. It's like they took it out of those quick mix hot chocolate packs and added water. Gross!
Food came moments later. The omelet was really good. Fresh, healthy and tasty. The brioche french toast was quite bland so I added maple syrup and it made everything better of course.
When it came to paying the check I pulled out my amex and the waiter informed me they don't take amex. I absolutely hate cash only places but I truly despise restaurants that accept cards and discriminate with what card they are going to accept. It's 2016! Get over yourself and the fees.
I probably won't return unless I'm in the area and desperate.
This is the quintessential European cafe. It reminds me of the ones I visited while studying abroad. It's exactly what I envision when I'm reading and characters walk into a cafe. Small tables, close together. A small counter with various freshly baked pastries in a glass display.
The croissants here are outstanding. I had a smoked salmon croissant sandwich. The sandwich had eggs which made for an interesting contrast to the smoked salmon. The croissant was light and flakey. I also had a bite of my girlfriend's goat cheese croissant sandwich which was delicious as well.
During my meal, I had one of the best cups of tea. It was a cup of French lemon ginger. I highly recommend having a cup of this tea if you're stopping in.
We finished up with a chocolate croissant which came right out of the oven. It was so hot that the glass display holding them fogged up. I couldn't believe it, but this croissant was even lighter and flakier than the breakfast sandwich ones!
I'd rate this cafe four and a half stars.
I've been here for breakfast twice, both times it was delicious. The service is good, the ingredients were fresh an they had a lot of variety. Plenty of organic stuff on the menu, which makes me happy 🙂
