I found this little gem on Yelp. Great place to get breakfast sandwiches. They have healthy options too! I've been on a health kick lately, so I've been conscious about what I've been eating. I ordered an egg white sandwich with avocado, and a small mixed green juice with whey protein. Very healthy!
Ok, I wanted to keep a negative review on this place but their food is not bad at all. In fact, I think I will probably keep ordering from here because their soon tobu is probably the best IN FIDI. It's very bland so you will need to add salt but if you saw my review on bonchon's soon tobu, you'd know that beggars really can't be choosers!
Come here for the bibimbap with beef
Ignoring the whole rest of the store, I'm just going to talk about one dish that I really like.
I really like the kinds of vegetables in the bibimbap. There's a good mix of cooked and raw vegetables. Bean sprouts, seaweed, carrots, zucchini, red cabbage, cucumber, mushrooms and an egg on top. The beef is precooked and heated upon ordering, so it's not the best, but still pretty good. Great value at $10.
It's on par with Open Kitchen's bibimbap and better than Cafe Plaza Deli's.
This is a 24 hour joint that you go for late night snack. It isn't the greatest place for a A+ meal but when there's no place open late, your best bet is here. The prices are cheap and it is quick. It's like a mini mart with a more exotic menu in that there's korean/japanese selections for food.
I had the dumpling and rice cake bowl. It came with rice and some kimchi. The kimchi was actually pretty good. The rice was like gelatin though, not tasty. The dumplings fell apart at the touch, spilling our the mediocre veggie fillings. The glass noodles were ok and the soup tasted fine all the same.
They also deliver so there's another point of convenience.
Along with St. George's Tavern, this is another "odd" Asian restaurant disguised. The place is open and…they have surprisingly good Kim Chi Jige (Korean Kim Chi Stew). It's peppery, a little sweet, salty, and piping hot on a late Saturday night after 12 pm. It was well seasoned, packed with spice, and decently authentic. Where else would you get something like that in this part of town that late?
Who would have thunk?
What a great place for all types of tastebuds. They had a options from freshly squeezed juices to huge pizza pies to the delicious handmade sandwich. They had delicious pho and fresh salads. The staff was very nice and made our lunch a great one! I wish I was able to get back for another meal but we just didn't have the time. Thanks again everyone!
This place has absolute ability to be upgraded to 4 or maybe even 5 stars. My experience was limited to a late night, quick, pizza pick up, but even just that was great.
Nestled wayyyy downtown where late night eateries are less present, Cafe de Novo is a beacon of hope to late night partiers. Offering a full variety of pre-packaged grab and go items, pizza, and also Korean food, it's a stop to make for a casual but great meal.
I picked up a few slices after going out with friends. They were generously sized with a fair share of toppings. In my mind it's a "standard" style pizza. 8 slices to a pie, reasonably doughy inside/ crispy outside crust, just enough cheese and sauce. Nothing crazy, but entirely what you want when you're looking for pizza. Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable.
I'll definitely be back to try the bi bim bap.
This place is great for delivery. I only order at night, but they are pretty fast. Their prices are fair, and I've never had a delivery order gone wrong. You have to be a little patient when ordering. Sometimes you have to repeat your phone number or credit card number, but if you don't mind going over your order slowly and be specific about what you want ( I always say the starbucks drink that comes in a glass bottle) to make sure they know exactly what I want. I spell out my street name since sometimes places get it confused with another street. Other than that, I've been ordering from here on a regular basis and it's my go-to for late night cigarette or food orders. Side note: their Italian panini is always good if you're really hungry; I've never been disappointed…. Open 24/7, a big plus in this area!
