Didn't actually go here. It was a scam. Ended up at Salvadorian restaurant. Review to follow…
Cafe Energy is a pretty decent place to go for a healthier alternative in this area.
I am a big fan of toss salads and let's just say, I have better toss salad elsewhere (just not around this area, unfortunately). I usually come here with my co-worker during lunch to get our salads. The ingredients of the vegetables are decent quality, therefore the salad is inexpensive which is not bad. There's a line here time to time. To avoid it, you can order online and pick it up. If you order there or order online, make sure all the ingredients you checked off are there, especially the avocado- they are very considerate of you to add the avocado in last so it doesn't get smashed in your salad. I have caught them forgetting my avocado once or twice, so make sure it's in there.
I would avoid the panini and smoothies overall… because they are expensive and not worth your money. My co-worker, who has sensitive taste buds even saw them pour at least half cup of apple juice with little amount fruits in his berry smoothie. He said he would not pay so much for just apple juice after he saw them did that.
Overall, Cafe Energy is a decent place to grab a salad considering the lack of healthy alternatives here.
Are you kidding me? The only reason this place has moderately decent reviews is because nearly every other place to eat in the area is just slightly better than a latrine.
Did they tell you something would be ready in 5 minutes? That means 25 minutes.
Did you order your lunch at 2:15? That's nice, maybe you'll get it at 4:30pm, as I witnessed when I was there and a customer was outraged. I will give credit to the guy, Tony, who tried to figure out what happened at settle the issue, though.
The service here is crappy, and there's one big older white dude who has the cockiness of an owner that wears the crown of crappy service. You can try ordering food, but you'll be lucky if they have it. I was with one friend who tried to order three different things, but they were out. The third item, they didn't tell her they were out of until we waited nearly twenty minutes for it to be done. The only reason she found out was because she asked. Again, are you kidding me?
The only reason this place gets any stars is because it's the only one of its kind around that offers freshly pressed juices made to order. I do suspect they use some canned/bottled juice for some of the fruit components, but I can't say for sure until I watch them make another one with something out of season, like guava.
They do have some solid sandwiches and wraps, however. I'd recommend the Southwest Panini with turkey, avocado, monterey jack cheese and pico de gallo. My recent discovery is of the West Coast Wrap, which comes with blackened chicken, bacon, avocado and lettuce tomato chipotle ranch and is served hot. Both items have some spice to it, but are admittedly tasty.
Cleanliness of the place isn't too bad. I highly suggest you call in advance to place your order. If you're ordering around lunch time, you will be waiting for 30+ minutes.
Decor a bit much for me even though I love plants and flowers. Just doesn't look professional.
My smoothie was fine and so too was the service.
Ladies, the guys behind the fresh food bar are super cute! Arrrmmm YES, this helps. Serve me the men, hold back on the shrubs and trees!
The End.
Friendly staff, not too crowded, great green juice options and reasonably priced. I think I paid $5 or $6 for a decent sized juice with kale, apple, celery, ginger, and lemon. Their salads look good here too. No iceberg lettuce here. They have green leaf lettuce and spinach and a stocked salad bar. Looking forward to trying that. I hope more people go and give them good business because we need more places like this in Jamaica!
