Yes. This place is SO MUCH YES!
Pro tip: it's POPULAR FOR BRUNCH- do not come here as a walk up expecting to sit immediately …. It's great so it's packed 🙂
There's a reason it's a go to spot- for brunch I can say it's a staple in the east village. We both had the omelet with cappuccino and orange juice – everything was so fresh, fast and had a great taste. Only downer is they were out of avocado 🙁 minor issue !
Our server was awesome even though we were taking all day to order. Lots of people from all walks of life in here – it was "so New York." I can't wait to try their dinner!
I loved this place. The food here is very fresh, light, and hearty. I got the morroccan benedict and the beau got middle eastern eggs. My food was so good it had the perfect amount of spice in it which I do enjoy for brunch. Also their mimosas are made with fresh OJ and its more alcohol than juice which is always good. The middle eastern eggs comes with hummus, pita, and eggs any way you like them. This place is soo great for vegetarians they have some great choices. I will be back! The service was quick and attentive.
Food was delicious!!! The highlight was the Lamb tagine. There's unlimited flat bread which is a nice touch. Service was a little susceptible but the tagine made up for that! Great vibe on the Saturday night, place was buzzing. Would recommend to others!!
Love this spot!!! It's on a cute street in St.Marks and isn't too expensive.
We came on a Saturday for early dinner around 5pm. No wait!
My favorites here:
-falafel: it's soft on the inside and crispy on the outside comes with hummus
-chicken grill kebob: soft chicken, comes with salad and rice and white sauce
-TABOULI: small salad in a really light dressing
If you're a fan of Mediterranean/Greek food like me, you will probably like this spot!
I'll definitely be back!
This is my favorite place for breakfast in NYC. Always bustling, great service, and beyond good food.
I hadn't been in over 5 years and nothing has changed. Same deliciousness.
The haloumi eggs are my go-to.
Husband was very happy with his goat cheese, kale omelette.
We both had fresh squeezed OJ.
Yum.
Be prepared to wait if you go for brunch. It's worth the wait.
Absolutely lovely. I came here for a late dinner the other night and the food was delicious. I ordered the blackened/grilled chicken. The chicken comes on skewers, two of them, a third skewer is loaded with grilled tomatoes and onion. The chicken was tender, flavorful and full of that deep, grilled flavor you want, especially on a summer night. It is served on a bed of fluffy rice, with a lovely side salad (dressed to perfection) and a pickly yogurt sauce. Sounds weird? But that sauce was quite possibly the highlight of the dish. It was chopped pickles, held together by just enough tart yogurt and went so well with the chicken and the vegetables. The only complaint? Would've loved a little more veg, in either the grilled or the salad portion. I will definitely be coming back, I'd love to try brunch here too. It's a perfect spot for a filling and delicious dinner. The space is also very cozy and intimate.
Busy even for 4th of July dinner, my friend made reservations actually.
Started with mixed appetizer which is hummus, tabouli, babaganoush, and salad all on one plate. Prob enough for two ppl but not 4. Came with ample servings of pita. Grilled haloumi served with 3 pieces, grilled veggies on skewer, and cubes of bread-again good for 2 and not 4. Flaky paratha bread is delish but again served with tiny square portions of chickpeas, labne, and curried cabbage.
Merguez and lamb grill served with basmati rice looked plentiful and tasted good. Bastilla is flaky pastry filled with chicken and spices, good if u like warm spice flavors (cinnamon etc). Chicken tagine (potatoes and saffron) came with two pieces of dark meat and one white meat, 5-6 potatoes, 2 turnips. Good flavor and went well with cous cous (you can get rice if u want also).
Baklava was yummy, crispy noodles with honey sauce and creme fraiche was ok.
Overall everything tasted delicious but aps were small portions. Entrees hard to share so go with individual orders. There's other places that have perfected same dishes to try in NYC.
Came for brunch with a group of people, similar to most brunch shops. Nothing really amazing or anything severely lacking, really hard to be disappointed.
Average stuff: all the main courses. Seasoned well, egg yolks were yellow not purple, potatoes had a nice shade of burnt brown not burnt doodoo, salads were green not orange, lox was pink not bue. Oh yea, meat was cooked! All items were fairly priced.
Subpar stuff: someone ordered a stack of pancakes for table. No one touched pancakes. Well everyone kinda did, but all took a single bite. Too doughy and soggy. I can't even blame Mogador for failing here, I gotta lay blame on person ordering pancakes at Mogador.
Above average stuff: service and drinks. Waitstaff was incredibly friendly for brunch rush. I was a waiter for 2 years, brunch service is ass, as a customer now, if waitstaff can manage a smile towards the table and remember things, y'all getting a fat tip. Drinks was pretty decent, taking into consideration it's brunch. Not well liquor plus sour mix generic crap.
