“And I usually don't have dessert but got persuaded to try the Halva Silan; vanilla ice cream topped with halva topped with shredded coconut.”
“My grandmother lives close by and we have made this our alternative to venturing into Chinatown or ordering in from Congee Village.”
“Normally I would have eggs on top of a biscuit, not something like a sweet pancake.”

Great brunch place in this area. The only down side is CASH ONLY. Haha, I came here to have brunch with my cousins on the weekend and was so glad they got cash on them because I probably only had $1. LOL Oops.
The place does not have tons of seating but they do have outside seating which is great for the spring and summer time. There were so many choices on the menu that I wanted to try, but I went with the Steak and Eggs. Definitely planning to come back to try other things. Maybe I'll go for a boozy brunch next time, hehe. I got a medium rare steak with over easy eggs with fries. Doesn't that sound awesome already? Well, it was! The steak was well seasoned and a great portion for me. However, the steak was kind of small, so I do not think it will fill you up if you can eat a lot. My eggs were on point! It was nice and oozy 🙂 I had a great time here.
This was a pleasant surprise in an area where the food options are very heavily either Chinese or non-existent in terms of New York City standards. It has outdoor seating and large windows giving it a awesome open air/European cafe vibe. The food here was perfect. I had the crab cakes and the scallops and both were perfectly prepared. The staff was very attentive and kind. I had some fruit that I had just purchased and they were able to hold it in the kitchen fridge while we are. Definitely would stop by again if I find myself in the area.
Great food and selections. A variety of Morroccan, Italian, Middle Eastern, and American fare. Everything sounded good for breakfast. I got a Spinach Breakfast salad great for #whole30. Spinach with a light olive oil vinaigrette with 2 poached eggs, bacon, portabllo mushrooms, cherry tomatoes. Great little NYC with an interesting mix of customers. Loved it!
Cute little place to brunch in the LES! It wasn't hard to find and it was right by the F train at the corner of the street. My friend and I didn't have to wait and got seated immediately.
We ordered the steak Benedict and the Jerusalem nested egg which was too hyped up on some reviews. I was kind of disappointed with the Jerusalem nested egg. It was way too salty and the bread was really hard. I definitely would not order again. I love the steak Benedict though. The steak was soft and tender. It went really well with the eggs and bread.
I would come back for the steak Benedict and other things on the menu. One con about this place is that they only accept cash so remember to take out money before coming here!
Got a Quinoa dish which came with Sautéed kale, mushrooms, corn and roasted sweet potatoes for take out.
This is a vegan dish, which usually doesn't fill me up but this dish hit the spot.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and it wasn't overly oily and the kale was just right, not mushy and had a bit of a bite still.
Usually vegan dishes don't fill me up, but this hit the mark as well.
Overall enjoyed the full, had good flavor and would order it again.
My only thing is I wish I had more sweet potatoes, only two slices of it.
Definitely would come back again.
I must admit, I did not eat here. I was nursing a hang over and we were walking around, only to find $5 brunch special mimosas, bloody marys and bellinis SCORE!). A little hair of the dog never hurt anyone on a weekend adventure to NYC. The servers were nice, drinks were delicious and I could sit outside and watch the people go by as I tried to feel normal again before leaving the city on the train. Maybe next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll have some food as well. But, $5 drinks in the city are with a pop in!
One of my favorite places in the LES. This cute spot has been around for as long as I can remember. In the Lower East Side where cash is king, this is no exception.
The tables are on the smaller side which makes this an ideal place for a small intimidate gathering. I've tried their burger, mussels, and Shakshuka. Everything was delicious but the Shakshuka was exceptional.
Their drinks are a little on the pricier side but well-poured so justifiable. The staff is super friendly. Very chill vibe and worth the trip!
Had brunch here with my family on Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly there were still a few free tables so we were seated right away. I had Kaya's breakfast while my husband had the French toast. Kaya's breakfast was overall good, bacon was perfectly crispy without being overly greasy, eggs (requested scrambled instead of poached) were fluffy but the pancakes were a tad dry. Maybe it's b/c they're miniature versions but thought it would have been a bit softer. The French toast was thick cut and fluffy and tasted better than the pancakes. Overall enjoyed my meal and would definitely return.Only downside is they only had one booster seat which was already being used by another family so my son had to do w/o it. FYI – they have a few outdoor tables available as well.
