  1. Good food Bad service! This place is so packed and the staff is so arrogant about their popularity they treat you as if they owe nothing to their patrons. It didn't seem they cared if customers waited hours for a seat. We waited because one of our friends is particular about her food and we didn't want her going elsewhere and being disappointed. Otherwise I wouldn't have waited especially not with the attitude we received.

It was humid out and drizzling rain and we asked to wait indoors by the hostess podium/hallway and the bouncer declined and had us outside with not one care in the world.

Thank goodness we were able to sit at the bar & the Bartender was nice. The turkey burger was good and so were the fries. Nothing out of this world but good. Ehhh I wouldn't recommend it to save people the headache.

  2. First time coming here last night. It was about 1am it was pretty busy. It was very windy outside so it was chilly and we HAD to wait outside which is a terrible way to treat a guest. We couldn't even wait in the door way.

After 15 minutes we had a spot at the bar where we could sit and we ended up sitting there instead of the table. The bartender was friendly.

I ordered the classic burger with cheddar cheese and it came with French fries. The food was good. The French fries were a little crispy and the burger was good not too oily! Plus! They put onions, tomatoes and lettuce on the side.

We also ordered the baked macaroni and cheese that was nice and baked on the outside and creamy on the inside! Definitely recommend that dish! My friends loveeeee it!

The service was good once we had our orders and the food came out quickly. It's average pricing for their dishes which is good. 14 dollars for the burger with fries, in the city that's ok I assume lol.

Besides making us wait outside in the cold everything else was great! The restaurant looked very clean and organized. The bar looked so modern. I would return again and give it another shot.

  3. A strangely satisfying experience for a late night sit down meal — though it was late enough (or early enough) to feel strange even calling it a meal. A bit on the loud side, a bit too dark, but funky enough where it all blended together and made the after the after party experience just what we needed to wind down the night.

  4. This is a place you only come to late night. Its 24hrs and serves food thats slightly better than diner food. I've been here a couple times with friends or my boyfriend and my meals are always just blah. I got the lobster mac and cheese and tasted like pasta lobster and cheese thrown together literally with no seasoning. I didn't even finish it because it was not tasty at all. My boyfriend ordered the turkey burger and it was pretty tasty. We also ordered the fried Oreos  (best thing on the menu). Our food came out super fast! So fast I wondered of we got someone else's order lol. Would I come again.. Yes but i will stick to the basics and just get the turkey burger (can't really mess that up) and the fried Oreos. Oh and if your a homophobe this probably isn't the best place for you to come. Majority of the staff is gay and its in a predominantly gay area so you may see a lot of gay people.

  5. I LOVE THE BABANA SPLIT WAFFLES!
On occasion I crave them and seeing as how cafeteria is amazing enough to be open 24/7 I show up in the middle of the night craving waffles. My last visit was a few Sunday's ago around 4 am and as usual there was excellent service and a beautiful ambiance.
Most of the 4 am crowd is intoxicated or post party munching so you would expect noise and chaos however they do an amazing job keeping the control inside and out.

The lobster Mac is one of my favorite things on the menu aside from the waffles. The buttery bottom and cheesy goodness is almost as amazing as the dessert that proceeds.

The banana spit waffles are the best.
They are fluffy waffles not flare skinny ones but big soft waffles with a crunchy outside. Topped with IceCream banana strawberry chocolate Carmel popcorn and more! By far has to be the best dessert I've come across in a while

  6. Wow! I was ready to give this place a nice 4-star review, but the service just absolutely killed it for me.

After a fun night out with friends and family, my sister, cousin, and I stopped by for something to eat before heading back home. There was a weird bouncer dude guarding the front door- a little strange, but no big deal. The place was full, but thankfully not a long wait time to get in.  Once we had our table, and ordered our food, a basket of warm biscuits and butter came out. The ambiance was a little dark- most of the light coming from the candle in the middle of the table, and the music just a little too loud- to the point that we couldn't maintain a conversation over the noise.

My sister ordered the lobster mac and cheese, my cousin went with the famous Mac Attack (three different mac and cheese varieties), and I went with the chicken and waffles. The food was pretty good. My sister loved the lobster mac and finished the whole thing. My fried chicken was piping hot, a little dry, but well seasoned, and my waffle was just okay and lacking in the quantity of syrup.  My cousin, who loves mac and cheese, enjoyed her Mac Attack, and purposely only ate about half of each of the three bowls, so that she could take the rest home to enjoy for lunch.

When the waitress came by to clear our plates, I asked her to wrap up what was left of my chicken and waffles, as well as my cousin's mac attack. She took my chicken and my sister's empty plate, came back to the table with the check, looked at my cousin's mac attack for a second, and then took that away too. A minute later, she had one of the servers come by with my doggy bag of the chicken, and nothing else.  We paid the check, got our change, and still no sign of my cousin's Mac Attack doggy bag. We had to flag her down again when she came by a few minutes later to ask where it was. She just looked at us dumbstruck and said that she didn't think we wanted it wrapped up (even though she stood there looking at it for a second before taking it away, and not asking again since she apparently was unsure of what to do with it). Now maybe it's not all her fault. Maybe the music was so loud that she couldn't hear us and the lighting so dim that she didn't see me point to the two dishes. Maybe she misunderstood my simple instructions of "Please wrap these two up."  (Five short words) and heard "Please box this small piece of chicken, and just throw out the remaining half of the Mac Attack entree, even though we told you how much we were enjoying the food when you came by to check in on us earlier." (obviously a much longer and complicated sentence).  We didn't argue, knowing it was futile, my cousin just had a disappointed look on her face that her meal went to waste. The waitress even tried to smooth things over by saying "Next time you come by, look for me and tell me what happened and I'll make it up to you." (or something like that- I'm paraphrasing)

Our unfortunate waste of a delicious mac and cheese entree isn't what completely turned me off, it was also what happened at the next table to us. A couple came in and ordered, including some appetizers, a pot of tea, some other drinks, and their entrees. While eating their appetizers, I think something spilled, because both of them got up and quickly went to the bathroom area. In the short time that they were away from the table, the over-zealous wait staff completely cleared their table, including all their half eaten food and the almost full pot of tea.  When the couple came back to their table, they were shocked that the table was completely clean and re-set, ready for a new pair of diners to sit.  I'm not sure how the management handled their situation, I only saw that part of it. But it's pretty shocking that the wait staff was so eager to keep the turnover quick, that they thought that this couple dined and dashed or something, even though it was pretty obvious that there was half eaten food still on the table, and the entrees were still coming out. Yeah, sure it's a little weird for both people to leave the table at the same time, but as I said, it was pretty obvious that they were going to be back.

Anyway, the food here at Cafeteria is mediocre at best, a little overpriced, and the service needs some work. I probably won't be back, but if you're in the area and are looking for something that's still open late at night, there aren't many options. I would personally venture out and find somewhere else to eat, but if this is your only choice, just be warned.

  7. I went here yesterday for brunch.

Ambiance was very cool. Very trendy. Outdoor and indoor seating. There also is a lounge area downstairs. The bathroom also had a pervy setup – glass wall behind every toilet with neon lights.

Place was packed when we went – put our name in – the wait was about an hour or so.
Sunday – brunch time – this was to be expected.

Waitress and service were good. They were super busy so get all of your orders in at once.

    Onto the food:
We tried an egg white omelette with avocado, mushroom, spinach and added chicken (they could only do a side order). I would give this dish a 2.5 star. It looked like like only used 2 eggs. And there was nothing special about it at all. The chicken was well cooked. Ingredients seemed fresh.

Chicken Cobb salad. Big portion – again nothing special but good for what we asked for.

Croissant French Toast – definitely get this. I would give this a 4 star for sure. Very tasty – could have a bigger portion (it was 1 croissant cut in half) but the taste was definitely there!

Nutella Sticky Bun – a cinnamon bun with Nuttella all around it. Very tasty – nothing special but very good.

We got the Fried Oreos with Mint Oreo ice cream. This dish was a 5 star. The ice cream was really good, a great compliment to the fried Oreos. Can't really go wrong with a fried Oreo.

Overall I gave this place a 4 star. Food could have been better – but for a place that is super trendy and open 24/7!! And you get a range of breakfast/lunch/dinner items. Definitely a cool spot to check out in NYC!

  8. A classic, upscale "ladies who lunch" spot with outstanding food – probably the best chicken caesar salad I've ever had. We came for a work lunch and I had not only complaint, would absolutely recommend if you're in the area. Our server was very nice and the service was quick. The space was very bright and sophisticated and had a small outdoor dining area.
