Service was blah. Band was too loud and they came over to tell us about the tip jar. We were the only table in there, 3 people. But food was better than the band- shrimp scampi… good but not great, but pricey… Wine was good. If it weren't for the company, I would have left….
Location, Location, Location.
With the theater district nearby this restaurant seems attractable to a large amount of tourists because it's convenient. Service was slow but polite.
I went for the Pasta E Fagioli soup which was very filling and enough to leave room for their coffee and desserts. Even a picky dessert goer can't deny the homemade Tiramisu marscarpone mousse with lady fingers.
Atmosphere: quaint, but cozy.
Food: good.
Service: was definitely on point.
Definitely a great choice if you're looking for northern Italian cuisine in the Theater District / Hell's Kitchen area. You can get in and out pretty quickly and plan a visit to a Broadway show, comedy club, and/or any other activity around your dinner.
I had the Pollo Alla Fiorentina Chicken Breast with Shallots Sauteed In Marsala Wine over Spinach. I've attached a picture to the review so you can see how nice it looks. This dish was tasty. The chicken wasn't extravagant, but the spinach and tomato with the sauce added a nice touch to the dish overall.
My friend's choice of the Fettuccine Con Aragosta Fettuccine with Lobster, Asparagus and Wild Mushrooms In a Vodka Cream Sauce STOLE THE DINNER! I definitely recommend this dish – like, before you think about ordering a similar dish anywhere else, have it here. Your tastebuds will slap you around and call you Susan, otherwise! (those readers who have seen Damon Wayans' "Blankman" know the reference)
The service was great, the hostess a ball of energy who was very thankful for our patronage.
Last, but not least, local musical talent is often featured in the restaurant. So, on this Friday night, visitors were graced with some folk and jazz performances. Certainly a nice touch.
