The coffee gods have answered my prayers! I used to live in LES and was able to pop into Vita for my caffeine fix. Now I live in Buskwick and have literally been to every cafe in my area including spots in Ridgewood. I was thrilled to spot Caffe Vita last weekend. My mouth dropped to see one of my favorite Seattle coffee shops right here in my neighborhood.
The cafe opens at 8 am. I arrived at 8:15! They have gorgeous painted murals on the front. The shop is still small an intimate but definitely bigger than the LES spot. There's also a window view of the roasting room in Caffe Vita style.
The barista was super helpful with all mercha inquiries. I ordered a little non fat latte. They had run out of skim. I decided on almond and she was nice enough not to upcharge me. At my first sip I was reminded of a term I heard in Seattle all the time…. "velvet foam". Yum! When you taste that creamy topping you understand what is meant by velvet foam. Other shops have foam that is reminiscent of a child blowing bubbles with a straw into his chocolate milk. Not Vita and that's what makes this place so great. It's that attention to detail of making the best coffee drinks.
Thanks Caffe Vita for coming to me! You made me one happy Brooklynite!
