  1. I love the location of this place. I meant to head to Starbucks for a change of study environment but couldn't pass this place up when I walked by.

Very cute and they have a nice selection of fresh tasty baked goods and even more important for the task, caffeine. They have extra flavor syrups near the creamer that you can add to your iced coffee so extra stars for that!

I sat outside on their sunny picnic tables and was able to free-load the Starbucks wi-fi. It made a perfect morning. (Bring sunglasses) Did I mention this location is amazing? Cutest little town square feeling to it. After living in NJ for two months, this was where I started to finally feel the love.

I do agree that the management/employees don't seem too happy to be working. Take it from me as my mom has a bakery in California, a smile goes a long way people!

  2. We stumbled upon this bakery before attending a concert nearby at SOPAC. We had the rugala – we sampled each of the types: The chocolate,  the cinnamon, and the raspberry walnut and oh my goodness gracious, they were scrumptious  and absolutely delicious. I noticed a patron there who was in a wheelchair and it reminded me of how big the layout of the bakery was and I was happy that it could accommodate lots of people and those in wheelchairs. The staff were very nice. The smells drive you wild and I wanted to eat everything that was there. Next time cupcakes. Next time cookies. Next time danishes. Next time cakes. And I know I will be in sugar heaven.
And I did also notice sugar alternatives too.
    Whew!

  3. Iced Cookies: Decorated very nicely and will visually impress both children and adults. They taste a little like shortbread and work well with the icing.

Carrot Cake Cupcake: A little too much icing for my taste but moist and okay overall but I probably won't purchase this again.

Cannoli: Almost all in the display case were cracked. The outside isn't crispy and the filling is somewhat interesting. I wouldn't buy this item from this place again.

I need to try their other goodies.

  4. Baked goods are very good here, particularly the danish.  Their cheese danish are truly delectable, and worth an occasional caloric splurge, as are the almond danish, the corn and blueberry muffins and the tiramisu cake (which is decadent).  Their rugelach are also quite good.  The staff is always attentive and often even smile at you.

I have been a customer for years and consider this place more than just a worthwhile fixture in South Orange.

  5. An adorable bakery in an adorable area in an adorable city…or should I say town? I like that cutesy-town-square feel. This is a place where my GF has gone to many times before. I'm not sure what happened, but their "goods" weren't that good. We ordered three different items. I consumed this chocolate cream puff and thought it was okay…okay as in, I don't hate it…not as in, I kinda like it. I tossed the cannoli away. The shell was soggy, not crispy. The filling was thick, way too sweet, and had this bizarre aftertaste. My GF took about two bites of her Key Lime Mousse and decided to close the box, "I think I've had enough."

We were there on a quite rainy day, Saturday, early afternoon. Their trash cans were all full, all of them. Tells me they didn't take out the trash at night. It was kind of empty in there. So no one comes out to check the floor? Shame.

  6. It is either disappointing or surprisingly great.  The latter only applies to cookies from my experience.  Sadly the owners can't deliver despite the prime location and inviting store.  What a shame…

  7. It's a bakery that toys with your emotions on all levels. The pastries are all very good, but at the same time pricey for what you get. The cookies are great and probably the best thing they have. The coffee is overpriced and mediocre at best. The staff is always less than helpful. It's tough to not like it but they're really doing their best to turn people off.

  8. Live in Newark but work in Orange. I wanted Starbucks and since they are not too common in this area, I headed to the one in South Orange. This place was next door and even though I am trying to avoid too much sugar, it was too cute to pass by.

The stuff looked pretty good. I had the chocolate mouse cake. It was okay. Nothing spectacular. A little stiff for a mouse and it just didn't have that "uber delicious" factor that I like when I indulge and have cake/pastries/dessert. Haven't tried the other stuff so I can't speak about any of that. Service was okay. Prices are average I would say (pies seem a little on the expensive side but I could be wrong).
