I prefer their Kim bap because it has less rice and more goods. Ordered pick up on a weekday and it took less than 10 minutes. They said they'd be willing to deliver to Englewood if we spend more than $30 — no problem.
FYI that you can only get (non white rice option) with veggies. You can get it with tuna, beef, etc…
This place easily has the best kimbab around this ktown area.
Kimbab is super fresh. sad they don't have any sausage kimbab ( like the old traditional style of kimbab..hehe gotta love my fake meat)
Sadly, I came on a Saturday looking forward to getting the lunch special (kimbab and noodle combo for like $6-$7 bucks) but its only available M-F so I have to go back. maybe today!
We ordered:
– 1 Cap Kimbab
– 1 Beef Kimbab (mine was better… get this one!)
– 1 korean traditional noodle "CHanCheGoooksoo"– this was bland.. super bland. dont recommend.
– 1 Kimchi Udon… — his was better. very flavorful. I mean they are called CAP UDON. so they are known for their UDON. lol
Nothing tasted like MSG! broths were very clean tasting. not a bunch of junk added in.
Service was great. bad at first because the workers were understaffed and every table was filled. but they made up for it in the end. Truly feel the mom and pop feel of this place. Gotta love that.
Ask for extra pickled jalapeño ! such a good contrast of flavors and textures with your kimbab.
I was told that this place is one of the older spots in Pal Park, and i can see why. Good food at cheap prices.
When you are seated they give you a ticket to fill out of what you want to order. They also serve cold boricha (barley tea). I'm not sure if they give that to everyone or just Koreans.
Anyway, I was able to try the Cheese Ramen, Gogi (beef) kimbap, and the tuna kimbap.
They also give you complimentary soup to warm your stomach and tease your stomach.
The kimbaps are very fresh tasting, and the pieces are HUGE. Seriously, you can eat 1 order as a meal and be full for a good while. The beef itself looked a bit funky. At 1st, i couldn't tell if it was bulgogi or what until i bit into it. The kimbap had a nice nutty flavor from the sesame oil, and you have the crunch of the veggies. The gogi is lacking in flavor, but i admit they give you a lot of it. The tuna kimbap is just mayo'd tunafish kimbap. It's also very good. It def has more flavor than the gogi one.
The cheese ramen pretty much tasted like Shin Ramen with a piece of American cheese melted in. …1 slice of american cheese. I mean it wasn't bad, but I could have made this at home …if i wanted cheese in my ramen. I'm not a big fan of doing this, but i do admit it cuts the spice of the broth if you're not really into spicy food.
Overall, the food is abundant and cheap. Good quality, and I'm pretty sure this place will stick around for many more years to come.
Came here for lunch and thought the place was just ok. Their kimbap rolls were decent and we also got an order of the fried dumplings that were made with chives and rice noddles inside. It was pretty good but the skin was way too thin and kept on breaking and leaked the fillings.
Their menu was just a checklist with no pictures.
the place was small and simple with tables. Nothing fancy.
There are many other better places for lunch at Pal park area.
I ordered a to go of udon and korean style kimbab (I am glad more and more people call it kimbab, not sushi. It means a sort of california roll with vegies in and rolled with seeweed). It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't much better than what I can make out of instant udon from a korean market. kimbab wasn't bad. I would say it is not a bad option for a quick fix.
I was recently treated to dinner here, and while in my opinion this restaurant is not as great as some of the other Korean places in Pal Park, its certainly a solid choice. The competition in this area is just so high!
I tried their Bulgogi, which was a little dry, but they packed on so many vegetables which imparted a great flavor to the meat. We also had a new experimental soup which wasn't formally on the menu, the Fish & Kimchi Stew. I enjoyed that dish as well. I normally don't care for sardines, but this was very tasty.
There were some interesting items on their menu which I wouldn't mind coming back to try. The one that stands out in my memory is the Cheese Ramen.
Meh.
The udon was really bland. The ddukbokki was just okay. The soup didn't really have that much flavor either.
They even charged us something extra by accident, but like if we hadn't caught it, it would've been like $10 more… sigh. Ahjumma was nice enough though.
