  1. Meh. Decided to splurge today and go for a decadent dessert. For all of the hype I have to say I expected better out of this place. The storefront is great and definitely visually appealing, and their staff was very friendly and helpful. That all being said, there were only 3 tables to sit and eat at and there was a crowd out the door.

The selection here looked awesome and I was so excited to try something. My friend and I shared the chocolate mousse mini-cake which was SO dry! For the amount of calories I just ate, I'm not too pleased. I hope the other baked goods are different – for the reputation of Carlos Bakery I would expect that they are! I would be willing to give this spot another try, but perhaps another item and for take out instead.

  2. Cant say I loved this place then again I didnt love his bakery in jersey either. Buddys reputation is definitely going downhill and this bakery MIGHT be a reason why. They have enough staff. When I went 5 people were working and the place was empty. However it took them so long just to package up one pastry. I know a lot of bakeries get their stuff frozen but i would prefer not seeing it. I saw associates with boxes of cookie dough already cut ready to go in the oven ( like supermarkets do) No one talked to us while we waited or offered us a sample. If your reading this buddy I understand it's all about $$ but have some pride in your desserts. Your dad's looking down on you shaking his head in disappointment.

  3. We were staying in the area and decided that we needed to get out and about.  Found this place near some shopping and I must say was completely impressed!  Had no idea this was Carlo "The Cake Boss" shop.  Walked in the shop and smells were heavenly.  Service was great, dealt with a young lady named Gordon, who was so nice and accommodating!!!

  4. I have never watched the bakery shows and didn't know that this was someone's famous place. But my friend had to explain to me what was going on. From a coworker I had heard about this Apple crumb pie thing so I was excited to go in and try something.

I went the day before Thanksgiving to pick up a pie and was quite pleased at their staff they were moving at a really good pace so you weren't stuck online for very long time. That's very wonderful anyone who shopping before a holiday and needs to get out as quick as possible. The woman who helped us was very very sweet.

We were very happy to find out that they had something that was gluten-free. It might be nice if they had a little more options for someone who is gluten-free but the chocolate chocolate tart looking thing was definitely enjoyed by my family Member. He was quite happy and pleased we thought of his needs.

And now to the Apple crumb thing. It was amazing. Like I had two pieces of pie on Thanksgiving because it was so good. And think about it how can I possibly could fit more pie after Thanksgiving feast. But I just couldn't stop because the crumbs were delicious the apples were perfectly seasoned and cooked and yummy. I wish I'd been able to eat the whole thing myself I should've just skipped the turkey and just eaten this. It is going to be so hard to not go to this bakery once a week and get this because I'm now addicted. Like I'm writing this review now thinking about how I need to go to the bakery and buy one

  5. I came here on fathers day with my father and sister. We wanted to try the infamous Carlo's bakery. I ordered a white chocolate and dark chocolate strawberry. I also ordered a chocolate mousse cake which was for my father. I enjoyed the strawberries they were tasty. My father enjoyed his mousse cake. The place is pricy but i guess its the name you are paying for. Its in a convenient location. They have limited seating which is a big downfall to my review. Also i found it weird how the people took your order on an ipad. Also the lady made me sign with my finger which i felt was a little unprofessional. So i would just say this establishment is decent. Nothing special

  6. I waited for carlo's to open up in Long Island for a long time, I am a fan of his work and was excited to actually taste it.

My boyfriend & I went to the store yesterday for a quick snack. To my surprise, Carko's Bakery didn't meet my expectations.

The line was super long but not because people were ordering many items but because the service was tremendously slow. There were 3 people working and somehow they were moving at snails pace. They each had a small iPad to take orders on which was inefficient because it took too much time to put in the order. All the time spent doing that they could've grabbed the items bagged it and cashed me out.

The selection wasn't wide. I expected a lot more than what I saw. They had basic cupcakes, pastries and cookies nothing you couldn't find at a local supermarket bakery.

We ordered a red velvet cuocake, oreo cupcake, lobster roll and cream puff. I had the cream puff first and it was shockingly tasteless. I feel like I could've gotten that from a box at the grocery store. The cupcakes were okay, there was no filling on the inside. Everything tasted OKAY. I just expected more authenticity and flavor. In my opinion, this bakery has become too mainstream. It reminds me of like a dunking donuts but bakery style, you can go anywhere and get the same thing.

The thing that got me the most was that there was a long line and no menu. There was no board posted with items and prices which was very annoying because I waited 15 minutes and couldn't chose what I wanted until it was my turn & that's when I was handed a plastic menu… that makes no sense to me.

The place was clean, nice and well kept. It is in a good location with a lot of parking. I probably won't go back here but it was nice to try.

  7. This was a last minute tiramisu cake and it was spot on. Light fluffy and perfect for those of us who over did our meal but had to have birthday cake after the food extravaganza.

Now currently in food coma zone.

  8. So by now everyone with cable TV knows about Carlo's Bakery.  I've never been to the original in Hoboken but now that they're huge, they're bound to spread.  This is tucked in a large shopping mall in Westbury and is probably meant for take out of the most common pastries.  I don't know if they carry the full menu of what Carlo's makes in NJ but it does carry the signature items like the lobster tails, cannolis and assorted Italian cookies.  The verdict?  An above average Italian pastry shop with a really famous family that owns it.  Staff is nice but the hype is what drives this place.  The cannolis were freshly filled and good.  Other pastries were hit and miss with the yule log about to catch fire with all of the dryness in the cake.  I would stick with cookies and cannolis here but it's a decent place if you have reasonable expectations.
