  1. This is an absolutely phenomenal restaurant.  I ordered some pork chops to go last night and they were GREAT!

Along with the order, they bundled some really great bread and potato/cheese croquettes.  Pricing was excellent, food quality was great and the decor is awesome.  This space has been occupied by two other restaurants in the past, but I think Carlo's is here to stay.  The desserts here looked stunning and I am anxiously awaiting to return to dine in.

    One complaint….  cash tips only.

  2. I'm in this area semi-regularly because my brother goes to school here, tonight when I was picking him up we were looking for a place to eat and decided to try Carlo's.

The dining room at Carlo's is small and narrow, but it has tall ceilings and a lot of windows which gives it a very open feel. The decor is nice with thick wooden tables, an impressive bar with a pizza oven behind it, and intricate chandeliers hanging. Additionally, there's a small outdoor seating area.

The menu contains a number of Italian dishes, plus a section strictly devoted to pizza (12-inch, individualish sized). I wasn't feeling pizza so I went with the grilled shrimp entree which was served over escarole and white beans. The dish was very tasty – the shrimp were large, butterflied, and seasoned nicely. The escarole and beans were stewed together which made a sauce practically begging for a piece of Italian bread to be dipped into it. My entree came with a choice of salad, pasta, or potato croquette; I chose salad – it came with some arugula but towards the bottom I saw iceberg lettuce (boo).

Service was very friendly – good spot overall to relax and have a good meal.
