Their food is good compare to other place I visited. The reason why I gave 3 starts was the waiter didn't give us an option to look into the menu he was rushing us to eat "la bandeja" even it was pricing tasted good. I didn't see what other options they have in their menu. Drinks were fine. I liked their decoration but the dark lighting made me feel sleeping.
Ay ay ay..que rico..ahi Dios mio! one of the best authentic Colombian restaurants I've been to. If you're on a diet, let me warn you, stay away from this restaurant! But if you're like me and loves food, than go to Casa Columbia. The bandeja paisa was served on a large platter hence the word 'bandeja'. The waitress that served us OMG! AAOOGAH she looked like J-Lo's cousin if u catch my drift. She had a badunka-dunk! Anyway, I liked the chicken soup and for those not familiar with chicken soup from Latin America, be warned, not only will you find chicken and veggies, but the heart of the chicken as well, so don't freak out when u see a lil chicken heart in your soup. Take a chance and try it,if u like it, u like it, if not, than discreetly spit it in your napkin. The food was so fullfilling that it will make you want to run on a treadmill afterwards, u'll feel stuffer than a Pam Anderson's t*ts. I went on a Sunday and was lucky to get a table right away, coz it was mad packed. The prices are OK, and its good for dates and group outings, Go to Queens and check it out!
After hitting a Venezuelan restaurant in Elmhurst I had a sudden craving for ceviche, what better place to get some than Jackson Heights, Queens. The melting pot of south american nations. There is a plethora of Ecuadorian, Colombian, Peruvian, Venezuelan, and Mexican restaurants on and off of Roosevelt Ave.
Took the 7 train to 90th street stop and when we got off we were surrounded by a ton of eateries from all walks of life. We were going to go to Cevicheria de Rey but honestly there were numerous reviews that said it sucked so we decided to go across the street to Casa Colombia.
Ok I get it its America and all cultures and languages are welcome but when your running a restaurant you need to have someone that speaks english. My wife tried to order while I used the restroom and was to no avail, had to wait from me to come out and order using my espanol. I ordered the Cevich Mixto while Ellen F. got the shrimp ceviche.
It wasn't bad but definitely not close to the best ceviche Ive ever had, its supposed to be served chilled or cold, my ceviche was room temperature which put a damper on the craving. The plate was a good size though as there were plenty of shrimp, calamari, and mussels.
If you like ceviche take a look further down Roosevelt Ave. as this wouldn't be my first choice, there plenty of other places that may suffice. I can't speak on anything else on their menu, if anyone swings by let me know how their food is.
