I have a new rule, which is to never eat at a place with pipe lighting. It prevents me from eating anywhere in Bushwick, Williamsburg, East Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and a vast majority of the area between Guantanamo Bay and Nova Scotia.
I like this spot because it's a quick place to get a decent breakfast/lunch sandwich and a cup of coffee at a very affordable price in a setting that isn't insufferable, generic brunch food.
Boyfriend and I both had breakfast and coffee for $16 total. Try doing that anywhere else in Bushwick. Nope.
I had the Green Bagel, which was avocado, cucumbers, and some other green shit on a bagel. The bagel itself was disappointing. It had the white flour, overly processed mouth feel taste of a Thomas's Bagel. Way too industrial. But, toasted it was fine, I guess. They could do better there. At $4 though, yes please.
Boyfriend had The Jefferson sandwich ($7), which was some sort of mozzarella cheese concoction on very good bread.
Coffee was on point.
Seating is limited. Yeah, I'd go back, and would recommend.
Charming, small, unpretentious. The boho meets Paris side street ambiance and their overstuffed armchairs makes it too comfortable to leave quickly. Delicious sandwiches. The baristas are consistently friendly and nice. Wifi. Great spot to have a bite and meet the neighborhood or to grab a coffee en route to the train.
Adorable little spot. Great Mocha. Nice staff. Cool little reading nook or a good spot for wifi. Small mocha $4 which was a little higher than other places with smalls but that's okay.
I was served what may well be the worst pumpkin spice latte on earth. It was VERY watery and had no distinct flavor of either coffee or pumpkin – just watery milk. Also, wayyyy too much cinnamon spice. It didn't flavor the drink, rather it made a thick, lumpy froth on top.
I also tried the green bagel, which was really good and a fair price.
Overall – not impressed. I would not come back based solely on how awful that latte was.
