  1. Stopped into Chai for a quick bite during lunch one day….was immediately calmed by the attractive pond with floating flowers near the front door.
We were greeted by a nice waitress who was pleasant and helpful. She ensured that my water glass never dried up.

I went with the simple Thai dish……Pad Thia (beef) and it was pretty good, nothing amazing or out of this world but definitely good. The place had a nice ambianace and despite that I didn't stick around for dessert but I did see the neighboring table with a delicious banana dessert.

  2. Came here for dinner last week.

    Awesome duck curry.  Great flavor.
    Nice pad thai.

Atmosphere: very cute, dark and dreamy. Cute pond in the front.

Service: awesome, food came out fast and waitress was great.

    Overall an awesome experience.

  3. How could I not have written a review yet?  First of all, Chai is down the block from my apartment.  I'm there a lot!  The ambiance is super cute.  I always love the vibe.  All of my friends are super impressed when I bring them.  And the food is really good.  My fave is the chang mai noodles….delish!  I also like everything else………. I haven't had a bad dish.

  4. I came here on NYE's with a group of friends for dinner. One of my friends did try to make a reservation over the phone, but they wouldn't take it. However, they said they will keep us in mind. Luckily, there was a table open for us when we came in! Especially on NYE's.

The decor of the restaurant is great and looking through the glass window from the outside, you will notice their little pond of lotus flowers and fake candlelights. It really sets up the intimate atmosphere, as well as the dim lighting and the lights they have dangling over the "pond."

Our waitress was super nice and attentive. She even offered to take a picture of us later. So, service was a big plus!

For appetizers, we ordered the corn fritters! They were so good! Get them if you're here!

For entrees, I ordered the popular Chiang Mai Noodles. They were very accommodating when I asked if I can have Chiang Mai Noodles mild.

My friends ordered the Indo Chicken, Pad Thai's and Pad See Ew. The presentation of the food was great and my dish tasted delish! Highly recommend! The Indo Chicken also looked great and my friend seemed to enjoy it. One of my friends complained that there was too much vinegar in her pad thai and had some trouble eating it. However, we're not sure if the "too much vinegar" is the "Chai" style. It could possibly be? But I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Other than that, everything was great.

We also had Thai Iced Teas. They were served in mason jars and tasted so good!

Overall, this is a pretty solid place for Thai food that has good prices. I would recommend it!

  5. Decent place the downstairs eating area is small. The service good and fast. I recommend the Shrimp pad Thai, the Calamari, and the Thai Ice Tea. The prices are reasonable. A good place to try out.

  6. I really want to like this place but I don't.

The spring rolls on my plate were cold, damp inside, not completely thawed yet.

They show you the lunch special menu everywhere. But they charge you the full price at the end. That's another problem of this place.

  7. Williamsburg restaurant Chai is not too bad. I was going for a date night and we passed by this restaurant. When we entered and asked to be seated we didn't realize how small this place is. We were going to be seated at a two table desk but because the couple next to us were so close I really didn't want to put my wide behind in their face while they ate. So we asked to eat at the bar which didn't have a bad view of the feng shui decor and also a wide open door space that let in the cool Brooklyn breeze drape your back.

It's was a little dark in the restaurant so because my honey is so old with bad vision we used are cellphones to look at the menus.. Which was a little fun cause i got to make fun of the situation. They actually have a great selection, we order three appetizers and two entrees.. I order a delicious Vodka gimlet and he order water!!!.

Over all the food was delicious and the waiters were nice but the place is pretty small and I notice how cheap they were with tissue!!… But I enjoyed everything and I would come again but I'm hanging out at the bar

  8. This little place offers a great lunch special which includes soup salad or spring roll for 8.99. Now keep in mind it is small place the food is good and the service is friendly. I really enjoy eating the pad see ew and the pad Thai. I also prefer coming here over sea.
