  1. It's a higher class SUBWAY conveniently located within the food court of Queens Center Mall, where you choose your sub but they cook and grill it in front of you. I got the limited time 3 cheese chicken sub with red pepper sauce. It was AMA-ZING, I got the combo that came with their freshly made strawberry lemonade which was very sweet but good at the same time and fries. So why the three stars if everything is amazing.

The reason for the three stars was the service, they had a lady kindly giving samples in front of Charley's and that's how they got me to purchase the sub. Once I got to the cashier I asked him which one would he go for, the chicken ranch or the limited time 3 cheese chicken. He answered oh they both good, not explaining the difference between the subs which is core to know if you get asked these type of questions all day long. I decided on the 3 cheese sub because I didn't want to lose the opportunity to not have it if I ever come back again.

As I waited the next person in line shouted all the sauces and I couldn't really understand her, it wasn't that busy. There was just one other person behind me, no reason to fast speak and shout. My sandwich says it comes with red pepper sauce so that's how I want it if I wanted ranch, ketchup or mayo I would've told the cashier. Bad set-up, bad strategy and lack of communication between her and the cashier.

Great sandwich and drink, but if Charley's wants people to keep coming back they need to have better customer service and better communication between the staff.

  2. It's no cheesesteak from Philly but it's close enough for what it is. You have a choice of three hoagie sizes, small, regular, and large. I personally think the cheesesteaks should all be served in one normal size. They didn't even have onions or cheese wiz on their cheesesteaks. I ordered their BBQ philly with cheddar. They gave a reasonable portion of meat but they were a bit stingy with the cheddar. The hoagie wasn't toasty either.

Verdict – For the amount they charge for a regular size Philly, I'd rather have a real cheesesteak from Pat's or Jim's. Nothing beats a cheesesteak from Philly. Charley's subs are okay but they really need add onions and cheese wiz to their menu. It's not a bad tasting sub by any means, there's just a lack of original flavors.

  3. The line was long. Service was slow. One cashier. Two on grill. However, food quality was good, but my order was wrong. I asked for no peppers and mushrooms yet they were in my sandwich.. Not too salty. Bread has good chew.

  4. After some post Christmas shopping a friend and I just wanted a good ole bad for you sub.

My friend got the BBQ Steak Cheddar Sub.. the sub made it to my car and was devoured before we left the parking lot.
I got the reg Steak & Cheese w/ lettuce, lil mayo, ketchup, &pickles. I know, weird but usually oh so tasty.
I was disappointed in the steak it self.. it was steak-umms.. I could've made that at home.

I now know that this place won't give me the steak & cheese subs I'm use to getting from other places that shall remain in my number 1 & 2 brackets.

  5. Like most food places, the prices have increased while the food portion decreased.

    Cons:
-Philly Cheese stake – It used to be really good, but the quality has definitely decline over the years
-Fast, they are efficient in taking your orders and making the food

    Cons:
-Don't get the fries – unfortunately it's not that good anymore; taste like cardboard
-Pricey – I use to recommend this over Subways but now I have to say it's the other way around because of price and quality of food.
