AMAZING!!
I get all my cakes here for almost all occasions; birthday, holidays etc.
They have a great selection of cakes, they are not to sweet and not to bitter, they always have something new everytime I go.
They also make special cakes anything you can think of.
it's also a great place to go have coffee read a book or do some work.
All I had are cakes: double chocolate, the cloud cake, coffee eclair, the dream cake, and the tea cake.
Do NOT get the cloud cake unless you like pure sugar-made white cream and meringue. The cream is puffy and the meringue melts in your mouth right away, but the flavor and taste were just awful! Super sweet (cheap sweet), thick, and sugary! It has the taste I hate the most!!!
The double chocolate is a piece of art by design, and very chocolatory as "double" means milk chocolate mousse and sponge cake. But overall, I think it was a just-okay cake and better to share between 2 people, because there isn't much variance except chocolate taste. I soon was fed up. But if you are a chocolate lover, you might enjoy it.
The tea cake and coffee eclair are the best among all those I bought. They are not overly sweet but rich in flavor.
The coffee eclair – the name is eclair, but it's actually a mousse cake with eclair a on top and a little surprise: it hides another custard eclair in it. But still the best part is that the coffee mousse has strong coffee flavor.
The tea cake is really delicious. It is hazelnuts with caramel and something else (I forgot). The whole cake is covered by dark caramel sauce, but not too sweet or not too plain, and the crunchiness from hazelnuts enriches the caramelized cake. I can eat it without tea or coffee, but as the name suggests, it must go well with a cup of black tea or any tea of your choice.
The dream cake, which is passionfruit mousse cake, was just so so like an average passionfruit mousse cake. The passionfruit flavor is strong, but the mousse is a little too chewy or sticky, not really mousse like.
I think this place overall is towards the sweet and rich style, instead if light and fresh. Those cakes look delish, by actually taste average. And, the woman barista was not so friendly.
Came here with a friend on a saturday afternoon and was completely charmed! It seems small when you first walk in, but there's actually a ton of space in the back AND– the best part– a large outdoor seating area/garden. I sat in the garden with my iced coffee and book and was so utterly content. Very relaxing space.
Along with coffee, they sell "real" food (sandwiches, etc) and an amazing array of gorgeous pastries: croissants, macarons, tarts, cakes, anything your heart desires. I was most impressed by the tiny tarts. So pretty! Will definitely be returning to try them.
I tried a black currant macaron because it was the most unusual flavor they had, and it was pretty tasty.
I dropped in one day after running around Greenpoint to find this cute pastry shop nestled on this busy street amidst a sea of bars. Although the pastries in the display behind the counter display looked yummy, I was more or less attuned to the fact that they have coffee, right when I needed it most.
You can take your pastries boxed to go, or have at them while seated- totally your call. The seating in the back looks on the intimate side and could pass for another good date night destinations. Coffee, in my case was sufficient and priced to move at $2/medium. I was not able to check out the pastries, a decision I'm regretting now, but I'd be more than willing to come back for it if I'm in the area. More on that another day. 4.4/5.0
Just so you know I'm a stickler for professionalism and pleasantries. Here's a friendly reminder to CP y'all gotta do better. I'm entering your business which means I, me, Brie, the customer should be greeted.
I'm contributing to paying off your expenses. When you think about it like that y'all should go out of your way to pay attention to customers and greeting them. I didn't want to spend my money here based off of the interaction I didn't receive.
In need of some food and after noticing this place and I went there before with the promise of strawberry muffins which were no longer there so I left. My more recent visit was because I was in the need to eat and didn't really know any other places around.
I got the BLT with fries while the lady just got the ham and cheese croissant which she enjoyed, flaky and savory. The sandwich itself was pretty good with some nice wide pieces of bacon, every bite I had had a piece of bacon in it and adding avocado to it was a nice touch. We were pretty impressed with their backyard space as well, it was calming and pretty serene and didn't feel like we were in so many other back patios in NY that just seems like an alley. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent coffee, pastries and cookies. I tried an apple loaf and some bourbon pecan cookies. So so so good. They have a decent amount of space inside to hang or study and the bathroom is clean.
No CC min either!
My boyfriend and I darted in here out of desperation during a thunderstorm–the perfect start to an accidental date night.
The first thing to catch your eye are all of the beautiful little pastries. I went for the Passionfruit Tart; he went for the Crème Brûlée. Both were delicious, and I love that they're the perfect size for a sweet treat without feeling too full or too guilty!
The coffee is also swell. NYC is so much better at whipping up the perfect Latte Macchiato–remind me again why I don't live here instead?? Plus, it seems like it would be a cozy spot to settle into to get some work done, especially on the outdoor terrace in the back.
The places you find by mistake are often the most quirky and unforgettable, and this spot is no exception. I'd love to come back and indulge on one of those tempting pieces of chocolate cake!
