  1. I came here Wednesday night with my friend for dinner around 7ish. We had no trouble getting a table outside. I had scooped out the menu ahead of time and was pleased to see that there were some other options besides the usual American mexican food. I had the chicken enchiladas in the mole sauce and we started with the table side guacamole. I had the red sangria and my friend has the strawberry mojito. Everything was really tasty, flavorful and well done. The portions were a good size too, so while it wasn't the cheapest, the food and that gorgeous view totally made up for it. Totally recommend.

  2. The view from here is very nice indeed and the building itself is very cool (it has been many things over the years but this restaurant has managed to stick around for a while now). Not huge and can be hard to get a table – parking is even more difficult. But their giant bowls of delicious FRESH guac are worth it…yes indeed. Love that you can adjust the spicy on it. Also love their margaritas and martinis -so good! You forget there is alcohol (not always a good thing, folks LOL). The paella is quite delicious, as are the tacos al pastor and the queso fundido appetizer. A little tough to find seating if you are a group of say, 4-5 or more. But otherwise a great experience!

  3. Fantastic! Let me get the one negative I faced here out of the way…The Sangria was watered down to me, although this was after a few margaritas I had elsewhere . It wasn't worthy of being on the table, all though the homeys felt the same way. They had a 4 page tequila menu, we should have tried  it lol.

On to the Best part…..the Food !

The Guacamole was prolly top 3 Guacamoles I have ever had. They make it table side to your liking, they even had us sample it until we were satisfied with the taste(spicy).

The Poblano peppers inside chicken breasts. They flavor was delicious, it could have used a little kick but thats me being picky as usual.
The chicken  enchiladas were fantastic I'm glad the plate wasn't any bigger because I would kept eating and eating lol.
Mole enchiladas was good but out of the 3 dishes we had this time around. This was least memorable.

Look the food rocked! It's a good enough reason warrant many visits. The 2nd best part which is on the elite level are the Gorgeous views of the NYC skyline. We all know Jersey has the best views of NYC.  They have outdoor seating with nice lighting that creates quite the festive vibe. The indoor dinning areas were very nice, open, spacious, huge windows with nice views, and they have an upstairs which felt even bigger than the first floor area.

Enjoy the pics and the videos 😉

Definitely glad I finally got to check this out. Can't wait to come back!

  4. I've been here twice and I'm surprised at how much I like this place. The view is pretty great, yes, but it would be much more appreciated if they had a rooftop of some sort. However, it is a nice view even if it's through the windows of the restaurant. This place has two floors, though I've never been seated on the second floor as I believe it's mostly for bigger parties.
The food here is expensive, so I guess you pay for that nice view. The guacamole ($11) is pretty good here, AND it's made table side… well, ON your table actually, but it is made fresh, in your face so you can see that they do in fact use fresh avocados.
The dishes are a bit on too expensive for the quality you actually get but it is tasty. My favorite dish, Sabor Azteca, is pretty good (thin slices of steak, shrimp, 2 chicken taquitos, rice & beans, adorned with pico de gallo, an avocado sauce, and some chipotle mayo). The mayonnaise is my least favorite thing on this plate but overall the dish is pretty tasty, and offers a wide variety of Mexican-American flavors though it lacks  that WOW flavor factor you would expect from a $23 dish.
The chilaquiles are also a favorite of mine, and last time I was here my friend said the "caldo de pollo" was pretty good though I can't speak from personal experience.

The margaritas are usually my favorite part of the meal here, though I usually settle for 1 or 2 as they are quite expensive and although they are small, they certainly pack a punch.

Overall, this isn't the BEST Mexican fare you'll have, DUH, but it is pretty good, served in a cool environment with an even cooler view. This place is perfect for a date on a warm night, enjoy some margaritas and take a walk on the promenade nearby that offers killer views of NYC.

  5. Very cool restaurant with a high energy feel that isn't overwhelming. Came here with a friend for late lunch and glad we stopped by.

No wait time here, we walked in and where seated immediately on a table for two. Skyline view is partially visible from anywhere inside but what's really eye catching is the decor.

Every table comes with a stone bowl in the shape of a pig that the restaurant uses for making guacamole. Yea, they actually sit there and crush avocados and mix them with all the other ingredients hibatchi style right in front of you. You can even tell them to change the proportions to make it saltier or hotter by adding more pepper.

Best guacamole I've ever had no doubt. If you're coming here, order it. The chips are great too and the portion is good enough for two people.

We ordered a chicken dish with corn based sauce. Chicken was cooked pretty well, corn sauce was new to me and I enjoyed it. Rice was delicious but the black beans didn't do it for me. I would've preferred a salad over the black bean side honestly.

Two chicken dishes and guacamole for about 50$. Expensive, but I'll probably come back here.

Would recommend for a fourth date, you gotta raise your voice to talk over the music so it's not ideal for a good conversation. Come with friends because you're always loud around them anyway. Kind of ok for a family, not really for kids.

  6. Frozen margaritas were pretty potent; queso fundido app was good but, with sausage and poblano pepper, my buddy and I were bummed that the dish had no heat.  "Hot sauce, please!"

My beef dish, "Alambre" was also too mild and the steak consistency was not great.  Definitely not skirt steak – more like cheaper cuts of blade or chuck.  My friend's Cochinita Pibil (a pork dish) was better.

The place is really dark.  I get it  – it's great for the views of Manhattan – the skyline really pops against the dark setting – but geez I forgot to pick up my night vision goggles at the base's PX beforehand so a little light would be nice.

Come for the fundido and margaritas.  Oh – the guacamole gets good reviews too (we didn't get the guac).

  7. The food was pretty good.   Chips and salsa were authentic, as was the guacamole and rice and beans.  I wasn't overly impressed with the margaritas.  For an entree I had the Enchiladas Verde.  I was happy with it.  So, it's nothing to write home about, but it is authentic Mexican.  I would go back, but I'm not running to get there.

  8. It's pretty good!

Charrito's is really the only option for dining in the immediate area. Yes, it's always busy. Yes, the parking situation is crazy.

The food is very good. Definitely get the guac. A generous portion as appetizer for two. The drinks are pretty strong too so get something like a margarita.

Overall it's enjoyable but at midtown Manhattan prices. I guess that's because of the view of midtown Manhattan. Prepare to spend $$$.
