  1. June 12, 2016 Sunday – 6 PM for dinner
    2 Adults and a kid

    Atmosphere – 2 stars
    Food – 1 stars
    Service – 1 stars

Background – Well the drive to the airport took far longer than expected, so we were stuck with airport fast food.

Atmosphere – There are several fast food restaurants all tied together in the JetBlue terminal.  Great idea, but bad execution.  You go to the restaurant you want and place your order and get your food.  Then you get in line with all the restaurants to pay the few cashiers they have.

    Food
Drink – I ordered pop.  One pop machine, one of those too many choice machines by Pepsi.  One machine for 5 to 7 restaurants, sorry I did not count them all.

Dinner – $15 for cheeseburger, fries and a medium pop.  I get that is an airport but for that price it should be served on a plate with a smile.  Fries were fine, nothing special.  But lukewarm by the time it took to find a spot to sit.  The bun on the burger was smashed in typical fast food fashion.  The burger had some good thickness, which looked promising.  Burger was a dry puck, literally the size of a hockey puck.  The toppings did not even help to save the burger.

Service – There is none.  You order from a kiosk, which does not match the menu board above.  My daughter wanted an Oreo shake but the combos only have the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry shakes.  All the shakes have the same price.  The one person actually working behind the counter asked in broken English which shake she wanted. I asked about our drinks when she handed our food and all she could communicate was that the pop machine was over there, out sight from where we were.  One bag had three burgers and two fries in it.  So we had to get in line to get our cups, self-service and pour our own drinks.  One of us could have been doing that while waiting for the food.  Then you get inline again to pay for the food.  Ughh. We had ordered three sandwiches.  All wrapped same way without labels.  So I had to open each sandwich.  My daughter and I both ordered cheeseburgers.  I had to take apart the burger to see which cheese was on the burger.

Future – I hope not!  Average rating of two stars is very generous.

  2. While there are many high quality options for dining in Terminal 5 (yelp.com/biz/terminal-5-…), I decided to get a Grilled Chicken Sandwich for my flight (the Terra Blues onboard won't fill me up enough) from here as based on other experiences at Cheeburger Cheeburger here and at other Cheeburgers, I find that this is a tried and true option for me due to the very good food and decent pricing. When I flew out about a week ago in the morning, I arrived at the counter at about 8:30AM. I was greeted by two friendly ladies, who were happy to help me in the clean kitchen. I first used the kiosk to place my order for a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with most of the vegetable toppings and mustard. Unfortunately, there was no option for ordering the sandwich without a bun, but by using the order number from my receipt, the two ladies taking care of my order were able to take my request for no bun, which worked out perfectly. About ten minutes later, my sandwich was prepared and when I had it on my flight to Orlando a little later, I found the sandwich to be very good, as the grilled chicken breast was moist, juicy, and well seasoned and the vegetable toppings were all fresh and crisp, adding a lighter element to the sandwich. While the $9.25 price for the sandwich seems high, it was not that bad considering I was in the airport and the quality and relatively generous portion size justified the price. While I did not try these items on this visit, I can say that based on other visits to Cheeburger, I would recommend the crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside hand-cut fries and/or the thick and creamy milkshakes. I should also note that compared to a standalone Cheeburger Cheeburger, the menu is a little more limited. In addition, you pay at the end of the food court area in one spot, so you should be prepared for that. While there are many very good to excellent choices in Terminal 5, Cheeburger Cheeburger is a solid choice if you have a hankering for burgers and the like!

  3. Cheeburger at JFK is absolutely fine for a fast food burger. It's cooked thoroughly, the bread is soft, and you have the basic condiments available to make it a flavorful burger. Seriously, its absolutely fine if you want a decent burger so I wouldn't let the reviews scare you.

  4. This is one of the most affordable places to eat in JFK. I like to consider myself a food connoisseur. However, I don't argue with saving a quick buck especially when I'll be traveling and eating at some of the best restaurants throughout Europe.
Needless to say the chicken tenders were great in portion and quality.

  5. 3.5

    Veggie burger= yum!

Easy to order on the touch screen, quick service– much better service than Philly cheesesteaks next door!!

The whole setup of this area is a little confusing if it's your first time in this terminal and it's a busy day. You have to order food at the restaurant you want, but then there is a drink machine in the back and a common area where everyone checks out, gets utensils, condiments etc.

  6. Really disappointing. The onion rings were awful, cold and soggy (and expensive). The Serious Burger was big but lacked flavor, while the sautéed onions seemed closer to raw. It was edible and the portion size was good, hence the second star.

  7. This place is actually gross.

You place an order, and ten minutes later you get it. It is a cold beef patty on a bun. It tastes microwaved. It tastes gross. It is overpriced.

Don't waste your time or money.

If this were the end of the world and I needed food, and Cheeburger Cheeburger had the only remaining food on the whole planet, and it was between eating Cheeburger Cheeburger or starve to death, I'd choose death.

  8. The single most flavorless burger I have ever eaten. Basically a flat unseasoned meatball on semi stale bread. The cheese wasn't even melted and I'm confident they don't do anything but make a ball of ground beef and throw it on the griddle. They don't ask you how you want your burger cooked so you get an inch thick, dry, overlooked, Bland burger. I swear I would have thrown this burger back at them and demanded my money back if I hadn't walked what felt like a mile from the food court to jet blue terminal 28.

To the employees, owners, management, shareholders and even the secretary at the corporate office.. Your selling burger and fry combos that costs $12-$14 dollars. THE LEAST you can do invest in some seasoned salt, and ask your customer how they want their burger cooked. And oh, MELT THE DAMN CHEESE! It's obvious by the reviews that you have no repeat customers and you survive by selling grossly overpriced garbage to hungry travelers. Maybe thats why this location is still open but the one in white plains is out of business. Because nobody would come here if they had options. Do yourself a favor, starve before you eat here.
