After my shopping trip to the mall I was more than ready for some grub. Chef Bs has been a bookmark of mine for a few months now so I decided to give them a try.
I was greeted with a smile by Bill. First thing I noticed was the decor, it's a little busy. Disco lights in the dining room, white Christmas lights strung in random places, small seating areas designated for reading with stacks of books scattered around. On the other side though there is a pretty decent looking dining room with seating for 25-30 people.
Their doubles were popular amongst Yelp reviews so I got one shrimp and one pumpkin with a plain dhal puri roti on the side. Bill was nice enough to bring me shot samplers of all their drinks (non-alcoholic) as I waited for my food. The passionfruit and strawberry splash were my favorites. The doubles were full but the presentation wasn't what I'm used to. I was expecting it to look like a sandwich but what I got was something else. I also didn't like the fact that the tamarind sauce was so overpowering. Gosh that thing was sweet! I wish they would have given me the option, like they did with the pepper sauce, to put it on the side. That dhal puri roti though?!!..Somebody grandma is back there bussing it down to make that roti! I havent had roti like that in years! It was fresh, warm, full of dhal and spices just perfect. I would definitely go back for one of their roti meals.
