THIS PLACE IS GREAT! From the super cool neon sign in the window, tucked away in a sea of crazy signage for fusion places, it was like a haven for the short 2 hours we had before I had to catch my flight back to Texas. We picked this place because of other reviews and the vegan/veg options.
Oh MY goodness GRAcious – it is GREAT. I had the veg chorizo, I mean I have never had real chorizo to compare to but either way it was GREAT. And they make their own bread! Fantastic!! The guy at the counter was really nice, I realized we were ordering breakfast items just a hair after breakfast closed, so I felt bad. Either way, we all enjoyed what we had. My friend got the Red, veg, and also greatly enjoyed it. I purchased a couple of their home baked goods, including a vegan cupcake, but unfortunately left them in our AirBnb! But they were beautiful and probably tasted AMAZING. Also, the decor inside is so bizarre in comparison to the restaurants and sights around it. I believe it is Orange is the New Black themed?? The sandwich names were def the names of their characters. I'm sure it says so somewhere. Either way, THIS is the spot to go for breakfast or lunch. Awesome cafe close to station!
I was on a mission to find me some comfort vegan grub at Toad Style when I was greeted out of leftfield or maybe in this case right field with a cozy, intimate treat spot. And as people know, I got myself a giant sweet tooth!! Even though I was half a block from my destination I stepped into Chez Alex. (FYI Alex is a lady..fact) And in this said coffee shop was cases full of delicious looking baked goods. And recently I have fallen for quality vegan treats. The hard part here is picking just "one" treat to devour. The cakes looked sensational!!! Even the vegan cakes appeared to have a great crumb action. I knew I would have to return. I ended picking the vegan oatmeal chocolate chip. And then when I asked what coffee they had (I know…I'm one of those people) the barista responded that it was "Gimme"…yum!!! I HAD to add me some cold brew to my order.
And as I waited for everything my kitchen accessories envy was growing. But in the most positive way. There's the best cake stands here ever with a little fox and another with birds. And then there's cute solar powered toys and cacti. The place is cute enough to eat.
I need to come back to try the vegan sandwiches with fun names like "Crazy Eyes", "Dexter" and "Caputo". And what the hell are "beet and bean balls" and why do they not sound too shabby!? It's looks like they're making vegan sandwiches but stepping is up!
There's also comfy seating to read a book or in my case creepily eat your cookie and suck down your caffeine like a weirdo in the corner with shades. This might have been the day following one too many glasses of vino.
Had a quick lunch here. They offer a few sandwiches and I got the lox and egg sandwich, decent and fresh.
They have a few breakfast sandwiches as well but I just missed that 11am cutoff. They also offer a small selection of cookies and pastries.
They have few tables and chairs to sit and relax with a fireplace.
I also got a small coffee to go and it was tasty.

I biked over here today from crown heights, excited to try an omni place with actual vegan breakfast items- this is a rare thing in NYC. A few of the menu items were erased, which I guess means they were out of those ingredients. I ordered the vegan red sandwich, which was pretty good. My main complaint is that the cilantro was a bit brown, and that there weren't enough "meatballs" to fill up the sandwich. My girlfriend ordered the non-vegan red and had the same complaint. I also got the vegan blueberry muffin, which had a nice crispy topping, but was mushy on the inside. Overall, I wasn't impressed by anything I got, but am definitely willing to go back and give it another try! Next time I'll get a vegan breakfast sandwich.
Charming cafe and bakery with a plethora vegan baked goods, treats, and sandwiches. Their vegan chocolate chip cookie is among the best I have ever eaten-rich vanilla flavors and perfect soft texture. Only $1.50 for this delicious treat. The vegan quiche and breakfast sandwich also looked incredible.
Service was lovely and welcoming, and there is plenty of seating. If I lived closer to this neighborhood, I would come here every day. Cash only!
When friends or family visits me, I always point them to this place. It has amazing breakfast/lunch options and is conveniently around the corner from me.
I rave about their croissants, which are better than any croissant I've had in years and their banana pudding. Both are amazing. Their cookies are also good, as well as their vegan chocolate cake. The people who work there are always very helpful as well, when I'm between what I want to try.
Adorable cafe near the border of Bed-Stuy and Bushwick. Came here for coffee with my friend, who, at the time, had just recently moved into the area. My coffee was fine and our server was friendly. I liked the eclectic mix of comfy furniture that you can choose to sit in and either chill with friends or to get some work done. I didn't get to try out their savory items, but I would like to do so if I happen to be in the area again.
I finally came back to this place and they were stocked with banana pudding. YES! It is extremely delicious; not too sweet either. I definitely recommend their banana pudding because it is pure yumminess, and you will not hate yourself for eating it, as most sweets in general do.
