  1. My family has been coming here for years.  As a greek salad aficionado, I can assure you that Chicken Kebab makes the best greek salad in America.  The dressing is fantastic and the portion is huge.  My favorite topping is the chicken schwarma – juicy and crispy.  The chicken kebab is also great and comes with grilled veggies.  The babaganoush and spinach pies are great starters.  They also give complimentary hot pitas with yogurt sauce and tomato onion dip as a starter.

Only complaint?  That it's just one location.  PLEASE OPEN IN MANHATTAN!!!!

  2. Though most things on the menu at Chicken Kebab are decent when it comes to taste, this place gets 4 stars for my go-to dishes and the fact that I absolutely LOVE coming here.  It's one of those local spots that serves good food at good prices, has a diverse menu, and is VERY casual.  Beware of the Saturday night crowd, I've seen the wait be up to an hour long.

    I miss you, Chicken Kebab.

I recommend the spinach pizza appetizer, skip the hummus- it isn't that great.  The Greek salad is amazing for some reason.  It's shredded, it's crisp, it's refreshing, and if you get it with chicken gyro meat you will understand that this dish is awesome (get the medium size, you'll still end up with leftovers, it's that big).  As far as the entree dishes, the iskender is pretty good.  Kadafi for dessert!

  3. Chicken Kebab was a nice joint for a kebab.  Little expensive for meat in a pita, but I would try it again and see what other dishes they offer

  4. I used to eat here often during a time that feels like another life, and I recently decided to come back with my sister. We both ordered the doner platter, which is gyro meat over rice. She loved her lemon chicken soup and I enjoyed my lentil soup. Being there reminded me of the filet mignon kebab I often ordered as well as the spinach pie and dolma. As I'm writing this I realize I need to get back for that filet mignon.

  5. I recently discovered this place thats located in Rosyln and i must say, i am beyond impressed. This place is not your typical kebab and gyro place, it has a variety of items on their menu you wont find in other Mediterranean restaurants, like the orange roughy fish or the delicious kofte casserole. The decor is casual and cozy. The restaurant is split into two rooms and both sides are spacious and comfortable. I went there on a Tuesday night even though there was a crowd we were seated quickly. Our server was Michael, he was very attentive and polite, he also knew the menu inside out. There were dishes i wasnt really familiar with, but he took time to explain each and every dish. If you go make sure to try their appetizers, the hummus and the spicy tomatoes. I also tried the meat pie that was out of this world. For dinner entrees the salmon was cooked thoroughly and juicy, our kofte casserole was also seasoned very well and it wasnt too oily. After our dinner a local who was eavesdropping told us that we had to try the galataboureko and boy was he right. The galataboureko is the thin layers of phyllo dough that has layers of greek custard in the middle it was one of the best desserts I've had in my life. Just a quick reminder Willis ave is a tight busy road with limited parking so if you go there on the weekends you might have to drive around a little to find a parking spot. Overall with their food and service Chicken Kebab holds the king pin in Rosyln, if you head down there make sure to try it out.

  6. For this price range, you can't beat the food. Their spinach fish is incredible and their chicken gyro meat is really great as well. Their salad is definitely a high point too, and they give you generous portions. I'm not a huge fan of the tzatziki dip, as it sometimes pretty watered down, and their hummus is only really 3 stars for me, but for the price of their entrees and for the salad, this is a solid 4 star place for me.

  7. A solid staple in the area. My family and I have been coming here for years. Pros: the Greek salad is excellent; the service is good; and the takeout wait is even better. Cons: the chicken in the chicken kebab dinner is hit or miss – sometimes good, sometimes dry. Roslyn also boasts some fierce competitors, in terms of both quality and ambiance.

  8. Love this place!  The food here is always fresh and everything on the menu is delicious, that is no lie! Truly authentic! My family has been coming here since I was little.  Servers have been apart of this restaurant for years now and they always recognize us.

Always love to start with any appetizer but my all time favorite is the spinach pie. This is the best spinach pie I have ever eaten. When I try spinach pie's at other restaurants, they all get compared to the Chicken Kebab's – it is flavorful, light and extremely flakey.

Now getting to the dinner, I've always loved the chicken gyro sandwich and now have been trying the doner gyro. You can't go wrong with either, the salad they add over the meat is perfect. Just the right of dressing, lettuce, onions and tomatoes.  Yum. Recently, we have also been getting the fish dishes.

If you have a sweet tooth, you must try any of the desserts.  They have a couple options here including baklava, kadaifi but the best is the galaktaburiko!  Try saying that 3 times! It is a custard in phyllo served with a honey sweet syrup and when served warm, this is one of the best desserts around.

Personally feel this is the best turkish/gyro restaurants on Long Island!
