  1. 3.5 stars
    * Solid lunch spot with a large chicken menu.
    * Only have one table for 4 people so recommend picking up or delivery.
    * Although extremely messy, my Special Sandwich (minced chicken with honey dijon and coleslaw) was delicious and filling.

    Cons:
    * Due to all the Yelp praise, I was excited to try the Baked Creamy Cauliflower but it was unfortunately overcooked, bland, and flavorless. Would not order again.

  2. Waited 30 minutes for half a chicken and 2 sides ($15). i watched as sandwiches, salads, and about 15 people who ordered AFTER me left with their food while i was still waiting.  it's incomprehensible why it should take so long. the sides are pre-prepared. assuming, the chicken is already cooked. don't you just cut it in half and put it in a to-go box?

the food was ok. the creamy cauliflower was really good. the ratatouille was meh. the chicken was ok. there's more herb seasoning on it than the usual spanish/cuban chicken place.

the only interesting thing was the woman behind the counter. she seems hella efficient in taking orders and keeping track of who has paid and who hasn't. may come back to try the sandwich, which seems a lot more value for the price.

  3. Yummy! Think higher-end Boston Market that takes a little while after you order.

They don't skimp on portions here. I always get either a quarter or half chicken (I ask for all dark, but somehow wind up with all white), and whatever the green veggies are. The chicken is always good…nothing that will knock you off your butt. But the veggies are great! The spinach is my fav, full of garlic and really a hearty part of the meal, rather than a side. I've also had delicious zucchini, which was stewed in fresh tomato and seasoned beautifully. I'm told the chicken meatballs also rock.

I'm not a huge fan of the service, and I'd love a receipt so that I can see what I'm being charged. One table only – this is a take out joint. If you're in a rush, be sure to call ahead, as I've always waited at least 5-10 minutes. Absolutely a regular place for me though for a healthier, non-salad lunch!

  4. The chef owner Sandrine is the star here as well as the juicy French rotisserie bird turned in an imported French oven. The value here is incredible- $8.75 for a quarter chicken and a side.
    Ate:
    Quarter dark
    Ratatouille
    Potato salad
I added a side to the mix for $3.00. The chicken is a showstopper. Very moist, lots of flavor, marinated overnight and you taste it. There is a small seating area here. The Dijoney potato salad  also rocked out as this is the little French spot that could and does.

  5. Great! — a new lunch choice for me in midtown!   It's amazing how, with all the world's culinary delights within a four block radius, how I can still get bored from time-to-time with what to choose for lunch.  This is a great spin on rotesserie chicken (sorry for the pun) — so fresh, hot, flavorful.  I had the quarter chicken with spinach and it was great!

Just as Seinfeld's Cosmo Kramer became addicted to "Kenny Roger's Roasters", I can see how Provence may be habit forming as well.   Only bummer for me (kudos to Provence) is that when I grab Boston Market for family dinner some time in the near future commuting home to NJ, I'll be dissapointed.  While I'm a fan of BM, like so many other fast food chains, I'll notice the sodium they pump into their chickens much more now that I've had this fresher alternative at Provence.

I've taken a bite out of my late afternoon indulgence, the traditional carrot cake, and thank you yelpers — you're right, it's delicious, and with just the right amount of sweetness.

  6. Work in the midtown area and had to give it a try. I ordered the chicken rotisserie sandwich and their carrot cake. This chicken is so juicy and complimented with the well seasoned potatoes and gravy. I think the best part is the bread. It tastes so fresh and I love the flour remains still on it.

The carrot cake is icing free which I was skeptical in ordering but it turned out to be one of the better carrot cakes I've ever had.

This is definitely a place that is on top of my lunch lists and I look forward to trying their other items too.

  7. I came here with my friend because our original dinner plans fell through and it is highly rated on yelp.  I'm not sure if I came on an off-night but I was not impressed.

We came around 7:30 and they had ran out of some of their menu items.  Maybe those were the best and that's why they ran out and we ended up ordering the items left over for good reason?

We had the chicken and I thought it was a little dry.  I could not taste a huge difference between their chicken and the rotisserie chicken I get elsewhere.  I did enjoy their ratatouille, but not enough to elevate the whole experience.

Decor is cute and the staff were chatty with some of the customers (I assume the regulars).

  8. This place is great! I was walking by around 9:15pm hungry looking for a bite. I popped in and asked what time they closed. They were really nice and told me they were about to close and not everything would be available, but they could whip me up something.

I got their rotisserie chicken with potatoes seasoned with Herbes de Provence. It was simple, delicious, and hit the spot. The chicken was super juicy. I basically inhaled everything. They also let me get a taste of their curry and ratatouille. Both were tasty as well.

I'll definitely come back for more when in town next.
