  1. I had chickpea and olive at the 5 boro bike event. Ordered the beet burger with cheddar. Never had something like this, the burger didn't stay in its form so I would recommend an accompanying fork but as for flavor and texture I would recommend it.

Also had the blood orange iced tea I would recommend.

Total was $18, I think I was overcharged a dollar. I think this is somewhat steep and isn't reflective of their online menu

  2. The 'Pulled pork'  sandwich was so flavorful, I really am impressed. Yes it's $12, but the portion size is huge and it really is loaded with flavor. The BBQ sauce has the perfect sweetness and the fried onions provide that extra crunch that all burgers crave. Seriously, whether you are vegan or not, try this place. I'm not vegan, but I've noticed vegan food forces chefs to be a little more creative. Love it ! Keep it up Chickpea and Olive 😀

  3. Extremely delicious vegan slider. I got the "cheddar bacon" slider which was absolutely amazing. I was super impressed by the smokiness of the eggplant bacon and the beet patty which was not oily. I was shocked at 1st bite and I am rarely ever that shocked. Also the woman who served me was very nice and patient. They took credit card at Smorgasburg through a cell phone.

Very very expensive. $8 for a slider that was smaller than the palm of my hand but well spent. I stand behind every they preach- local, organic, sustainable ingredients, and most of all #peaceonaplace

I do hope they open a storefront one day or a food truck. I would definitely be a frequent vistor

  4. I have eaten from Chickpea & Olive twice. The first time was last year at Smorgasburg. The first time I had the Massaged Kale Salad. It had some kind of nut cheese on it, about 3 pieces or so, and it left me craving like 50 more. Extremely delicious and not drenched in oil. They massaged it there, makes you feel like you are eating some super special kale. The second time was last Sunday, August 10th. I had the Polka Sliders. The patty of the slider is made from beets and is served on lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo, ketchup and the most amazing homemade brioche. The "Polka" is the type of toppings I chose which consisted of mushrooms, onions, and horseradish aioli. While it was hard to eat, it was SO amazing. I mean, beets tend to take over the taste of food but they are just so perfect as the bun in this burger. If it wasn't $8 I would have gotten another! (realistically if i didn't spend my money on truffle oil, tacos, and coconuts I would have had that extra money to buy it). I wish it came with a small salad though so the $8 would be a little more justified because it is VERY small. I also tried the coconut black tea and it was extremely flavorful.

I would highly recommend trying Chickpea & Olive out. Everything I have tried has been extremely flavorful and it is all vegan and gluten free and the staff is super friendly 🙂

  5. Got the cheddar bacon ranch, it was damn good. 5 stars for taste, definitely recommend you try it. However, the meal (slaw and drink) was $15 and the burger was on the small side. Next time I want to treat myself at work I'll probably find a Chipotle and get in for $5 less.

  6. fantastic beet burger – unique – healthy!

  7. This place is amazing. Coming from someone that loves meat and burgers, that means a lot. I was so hesitant to try this place because the concept of a burger without a beef patty or a patty made of meat is very foreign to me. I decided to be adventurous and tried this place out this past weekend.

I saw that their patty was made from beets, which intrigued me and really made me want to try this place out. I love beets, but I had no idea how it would taste like in patty form. I went ahead and ordered the calexico slider, adding in eggplant bacon (what?!) with a side of slaw. The slider was relatively small but filling. The beet patty is so juicy and has such a unique taste to it. As others have mentioned, you do get that nice char that you would normally get from a non-veggie burger. The calexico slider came with avocado, chipotle aioli, lettuce, roasted heirloom tomatoes, cheddar, onions, and some jalapenos. I'm so glad I added the eggplant bacon. Everything just blended so well in terms of flavor.

Chickpea and Olive does a fantastic job delivering veggie burgers. Their food offers a very unique flavor and innovative twist to the vegetarian food industry. Great job!

  8. So I actually have gone here twice. Both times was at the archway in Dumbo, however. Not in Williamsburg. This is where they are during the week. I'm not a vegan. Honestly I don't normally like vegetarian food. However the beet Burger here was amazing. Great flavor, sauce, even the vege cheese was fantastic. Only flaw is the portion size for the price. 12 bucks for the Burger, wish it was a little bigger. Overall a great place. Must try even if you are not a vegetarian.
