I walked in on a Tuesday night at about 5:45pm – and walked into a wall of smoke. I was a little confused – I at first thought the place was on fire and turned to leave. I probably should have. Nobody acknowledged the smoke. It seemed that something burned in the kitchen, and soon the smoke dissipated. I ordered a schwafel platter with 4 different choices of salads (about 2 tablespoons of each).
The chicken and the falafel were bone dry – the salads were pretty good but for $10, I kind of wanted a halfway decent falafel. I've eaten at Chickpea before and had better food, so I dont know what happened to this place. Did they grow too big too fast, and forgot about food quality?
