My family and I love coming to Chilies and but this time waitress really upsets us. She gave us the menu and left ignored us completely. If my kids weren't so hungry, my husband and I would have left to a better serviced restaurant.
It wasn't like the place was busy. It was a Tuesday evening and there's only a few tables to wait. I see our waitress standing and chatting at the bar…yapping away.
About 10 minutes later, she came back to ask if we wanted anything to drink. At that point, we say we're ready for drinks and food ordering since she took so god damn long.
After the food came, she never stopped by to even ask if we needed anything like drink refills or more napkins.
Food, on the other hand, was loaded with sodium. The only decent thing was salsa dip and chips.
I'm so disappointed!
I've never had a problem with Chili's, but this location was not even worthy of being a fast food restaurant. Let's keep this short and sweet because the thought of spending more than five minutes writing this gets me angry:
Service: Terrible. I walked in to no hostess, and when she finally appeared from the back of the restaurant, she was not pleasant and unapologetic to my wait. My server was fine, but she was not incredibly attentive, either.
Food: Alright. The second start for this review is because of the food. I ordered the cajun shrimp pasta (Why? I don't know), and it was pretty decent. The portion, however, was smaller than what I had anticipated. Don't skimp on my food; I'll get very cranky!
Overall: Don't go. Choose one of the better restaurants that are located in the same parking lot.
It's in my neighborhood and I go from time to time for drinks and a meal. I find its clean, service is good, portions are plentiful and the prices are great especially if you go for one of the "pre fixe" meals with drinks or movie tix
Came for happy hour at night, they have a nice selection of drink deals. Well drinks are like $3.25. They also have great food prices ! Small plates/portions for $2.99(I think) or $4.99.
I ordered the chicken nachos (8) for $4.99 It comes with 8 chips but as you can see it's not so tiny. It was really good. The cheese was nice and stringy and the chips were warm. It filled me up by the 6th chip. Think of it as mini quesadillas.
Would definitely come back but not on a night where they are short staffed.
P.S. I ate a chip before the picture lol
I mean, everyone knows what Chili's is right?
I go to Chili's when the Garden State Plaza mall court food just won't do. And the times I've gone, I've had nothing but exceptional service.
DRINKS- 5 STARS
The one thing I'd like to tell everyone, if they haven't known already, is how well priced their drinks are!!!! I could not believe it.
They have the Presidente margarita, which is served in a Patron-like bottle and a salted-rim margarita glass. Their servings definitely surpass the normal "one serving" quota AND it's a whopping $7.99 (give or take a few cents).
I was craving a spicy jalapeno margarita that they did not have on the menu but management and bartenders made a collective effort to look up the ingredients to custom make the cocktail for me. And it was only $8! And my spicy jalapeno margarita came in a huge 20oz glass! It was delicious, cheap, and it satisfied my craving.
FOOD- 2.5-3 STARS
The chips that comes out with the guacamole or artichoke & spinach dip is too oily and thin to scoop anything up. The chip breaks as you're trying to transfer the dip from the bowl to your mouth. How inconvenient.
And the guacamole is never at room temperature because it is stored in the refrigerator.
Their dry-rub ribs are too salty so if you are going for a full rack of ribs, ask them to take out the dry half, because the wet ones are so much better (Cue Michael Scott's one-liner).
Their chicken fajita is a fail in all aspects. Please avoid! Too little rice and beans to fill up even 2 of the 5 flour tortillas. Their tortillas roll up and dry out if you don't eat it as soon as it is served since they were microwaved. The chicken is not grilled or charred on the hot plate, as the onions and green peppers are, so you end up with overly marinated vegetables with extremely bland pieces of white, dry, microwaved chicken. It looked so unappetizing.
Nicer location than others i've been to. They remodeled for their new look and I think it works. Feels less cramped than other locations.
I wish they had more vegetarian options but I do enjoy the black bean burger and fries. Maybe a vegan soup? Minestrone?
Eh, i'll keep dreaming.
Came here after watching a movie and because I had a gift card.
My boyfriend and I did the 2 for $20 special. We shared an appetizer and each had an entree. They have a decent variety to choose from on that menu, including some items from their smart menu.
We also bought drinks, which is not include in the 2 for $20.
Our servers were friendly.
I had leftovers to bring home. My only issue was that they gave me a smaller box than what I needed, and I had to squish everything in and transfer it to a new container when I got home.
One of my favorite places! Great chips and salsa/guacamole and great deals like the 2 for 20! 2 entrees and an appetizer… You can't go wrong! They have a good selecion of beer but the drinks are kind if watered down.
