China Moon
“We had edamame, mu shu pork, chicken chow fun, and seafood "casserole" – all very good.”
“What I really like though is the Chinese decorations and the harmonious melodies played which make one enjoy the food and the experience even more.”

China Moon is the first restaurant I tried following the corporate move to Grand Central. As a newbie to the area with a heart for the underdog and noticing the below average stars, I decided to give this place a shot. Surprisingly, my experience here was contrary to the majority of reviewers.
Perhaps it may have been the dish I ordered- See Ew Noodles or the day I went, but I enjoyed the service and the food which was delicious with the right balance of veggies, meat, and noodles, heavy portions for $9. The only complaint was the $2 soda in a can, no refills. Seriously overpriced a bit?
Note the items on the front menu and back menu are no different, just categorized by fried, sauteed, and soup.
I have been passing by this place for the longest time and finally tried it today. I would say the food is just average. The service was pretty good. Maybe this was why they were able to survive in midtown.
This was the worst bowl of wonton in history! This place looked like it was new. I did my research and found out they just switched the name. Well even with the new name the food is horrible. This place is dirty and nothing is fresh.
I had a weird vibe about this place when I walked in today but it was a break from the rain so I stayed. It's a weird narrow layout so the place itself is not aesthetically pleasing. The food was below average and gave Chinese takeout a bad name.
One star: for delivering to my hotel- club quarters mid town
One star: for doing it FAST, so FAST the spring rolls were still crispy and hot
One star: for a reasonable price for my dinner
One star: for being so nice on the phone, offering to add tofu when I said I wanted some protein but don't eat meat
Less one Star: the Pad Thai was dry, like so dry my plastic fork broke when I tried to eat it- it was OK, but I like a saucy saucy Pad Thai and this was not that. I added duck sauce but it wasn't the same.
I'd go back and try their Chinese, the reviews sound like this is where they are strong and it was a good experience my first time.
I stumbled here while working in the NYC office for a week. I had been craving soup dumplings but knew it wasn't enough so I ordered Dan Dan noodles too.
The soup dumplings were really good. I should have ordered two and scrapped the noodles. The noodles were enough to feed a small country and weren't that great.
The food came out really fast too, was impressed it took 10 minutes to make soup dumplings.
My office orders lunch from here from time to time & overall it's not bad , decent lunch menu prices & quick service.
The lunch special is great because w your entree u get either soup , salad or a spring roll , not a bad deal.
Let's begin w the chicken dishes , the General Tso's is pretty good , so is the Sesame & Sweet & Sour Chicken. I enjoy the Chicken in Garlic , Chicken in black Bean Sauce & Chicken w Broccoli best love the sauce w the broccoli.
I usually accompany my dish w white rice & either the Spring roll which is not bad or the Salad is ok , nothing special just a small little thing.
Beef Dishes , Beef w Broccoli , Beef w black bean sauce & Pepper Steak are all decent options.
As for the rest , Good Chicken Pad Thai , Pad See Yue , Pork Low Mein & Chicken Chow Fun.
The only real complaint is that when it comes to any of the dishes on the lunch menu size they tend to add way too many veggies w ur meat , not terrible but over kill most of the time so u don't get that much meat, only dish w veggies that is more worth it is if it comes w broccoli.
If u get the regular size order on any of the dishes it's a bit better on the veggies.
In general the place is not terrible , decent prices, specially on the lunch menu & quick service. I am sure we will keep ordering food from here.
I used to work next door to this place and it used to be amazing….about 5 years ago.
I was hugely disappointed when I was in the area and decided to visit again – absolutely filthy (think: flies everywhere, dirty glasses). It was never like this before…but it also used to be packed and now it's empty during lunch. Not good.
I like that they have a choice of thai or chinese on the menu and I used to love the staff, but now the place has really gone on a downward spiral.
If you do go, the singapore noodles and chili chicken or fish were always good. Not sure if it's on the menu anymore as this place seems to be changing.
