As a major fan of the Chipotle chain, and someone who has likely been to Chipotle 100+ times, including numerous locations in the Philadelphia area, it takes a lot to disappoint me! The food is consistently high quality and affordable, and as a young professional that doesn't always take the time to cook, an awesome option for a quick lunch or dinner.
With that being said, the lack of cleanliness of this Chipotle branch was very noticeable. There was trash lying all over the restaurant, and the table surfaces were mostly dirty. The lack of cleanliness made it a lot less pleasant to sit down and enjoy my meal. Additionally, due to the high crowds here, I've found the staff to be very hurried, and they are often out of even basic staple items.
Overall, this is definitely not run up to Chipotle's standards, in particular regarding cleanliness. This review pertains to this location only, as generally I am a big fan of the chain.
Finally, just to add on what others said, they are very stingy on portions here. I was shocked by how small a portion of protein was provided, especially in regards to other locations. This location needs a serious change of management if it wants to offer customers a quality experience and a clean environment.
This place just got shut down by the health department. The threshold for getting a C health grade is 28 points….. they scored 90 points on their inspection with means it was SUPER unsanitary. Doubt I'll be back.
For a chain restaurant, this is one of the better ones. They try hard to get quality ingredients and are ALWAYS packed! Especially this location.
It amazes me that people even think about eating at chain restaurants when you live in NYC and there are so many better, local options.
A chipotle is a chipotle, is a chipotle. Clean enough, nice enough staff, but stingy as hell on the portions. I have been to loads of places but this one seemed stingier than the rest. Maybe it's because the university is close by, I have no idea but will keep a running tally in my head to see if this is a theme.
Other than that – a chipotle is a chipotle.
I love this chipotle! From the outside looking in, it literally can be deceptive, especially from a distance. I thought it was too small to eat inside comfortably. But i was wrong, or maybe I just went at a good time. The portions were pleasing (not stingy like some other locations) and sitting in to eat turned out to be not so bad after all.
I think their idea of busy is 10 people in line. Moves quickly. At least at lunch time.
It's the only game in town for getting a decent Cali style burrito on this side of town. If I lived further downtown, I'd rather go to Pinche Taqueria or Dos Toros. It's not cheap, either; a steak burrito rings up at $9 here.
Due to lack of other competition, I'm forced to give 4 stars.
This chipotle was close to my apartment so i used to go there.Love chipotle and miss them already.
