The line is horrific during lunch (12-2PM), and sometimes pretty bad outside of those hours. For that reason, I would advise always ordering ahead when you can, because they're very good about preparing your order punctually.
However, the downside is that your food is a lot worse. Or, at the very least, the portion is smaller. I tend to get burrito bowls from here, and it is definitely the worse-portioned Chipotle I've ever been to. The quality stays in the normal Chipotle range, and I've definitely had some solid steak bites, but overall, it's not incredible (Chipotle in general isn't, fyi).
When ordering in the line, the quality is a tiny bit better–it's fresher, bigger portions, and prepared a little better. Service is also pretty great through that method. Also, given the line, they actually do a decent job of making the process smoother, although they can be rude if you're not immediately responsive to a question.
Honestly, if the line wasn't terrible, this could get bumped up a star, but all things considered, it's hard to say this place is worth going to for lunch, especially considering where it is. There are plenty of better places around at the same price and lower wait times.
I don't know if it's the staff training at the beg of feb 2016 or something, but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to chipotle today haha. Usually, everyone who works there looks like they HATE their job and give you bad attitude. Today, on the other hand, all of them made me smile allllll the way down the line to the register 🙂 They were extra nice and friendly, which I really appreciated, especially during a lunch rush! Store looked pretty clean and tidy too.
I still love their food, despite all the recent mishaps and people getting sick…burrito bowls are my favorite.
Today I lined up to order, since I had to use my rainy day coupon (score!); line is super long, but moves pretty fast. If you can order online, definitely do that – you can just walk right to the cashier and pick up. Lots of seating available if you want to dine in.
Will come back and update if I somehow get food poisoning in the next day or two, but for now, everything looks good!
TIP: I've realized that the later you go in the day, the more food they pile on (enough for two meals for me sometimes!)…probably to get rid of inventory for the day to keep things fresh?
After years of ordering burritos at Chipotle, there is a tried and tested way to make my burrito. Which is why I was furious that the employees barely gave me the opportunity to choose what I wanted. While they asked what kind of rice I wanted, they were already scooping brown rice into my bowl. I had asked for white rice. It was like this the entire way down the line. By the time the lady started to scoop sour cream and cheese into my lactose intolerant bowl, I was shouting out my order to a visibly irritated employee who I suppose wanted a more streamlined order.
Rude. I get that it gets busy and there is a line, but customers have unique orders at places that accommodate those like Chipotle and employees should be prepared for that.
The food is good , just like other Chipotle restaurants , you can expect the consistent quality of food , this is the place I would sometimes come to pick up a quick lunch. Usually it won't take longer than 10 mins from getting in line to check out. One thing I really don't like about this place is the portion is smaller compared to other Chipotle places . I always order the chicken bowl no matter which Chipotle I went , but this location gives me very little chickens and rice. I should probably take a photo next time to show how small the portion is . The rice and chicken probably just sit at 1/3 height of the bowl. Not cool.
This was my first Chipotle experience and second Mexican food attempt after Dos Toros at Union Sq. I again tried burritos but without any beans this time cuz I really had severe stomach pain due to that beans. Brown rice, steak, mild hot sauce, guacamole (Xtra charge) and cheese were my ingredients.
2 burritos were $20+ without any sides. Employees are nice. Lady at register gave me a Chiptopia member card for free which has some complimentary item benefits.
Unfortunately I did not like the meat cubes they used since they were chewy. Rice, guacamole were nice. Really filling portion, could not finish.
They have bathroom, convenient location on the way to Times Sq. close to Macy's. Wide sitting area.
I went here the other day to grab a quick bite before a movie screening. Thanks to the e-coli scare of last year I didn't need to wait in line at all. In fact while ordering I saw that they were implementing their new food safety inspections.
In the end I ended up ordering a burrito that cost me $10. It can be a little pricey but well worth it as the food has always been delicious.
Im a regular here, I come atleast 3 times a week to get the salad, i absolutely love the salad dressing too bad they wont sell them, I would but it by the loads.
"Meh. I've experienced better."
What Yelp's trusty rating system dictates for a two-star establishment could not have explained my experience with this place any better.
Traditionally, when I look at chain establishments, I compare them to other locations. This particular branch unfortunately, is unimpressive in several areas, including taste, service, value, portion size, and convenience.
In particular, the portion size is a glaring negative aspect of this 7th Avenue location. I actually observed the server carefully calculate the portion to be approximately 2/3 of the large spoon he was using. Quite simply, I stared at him in disbelief. In the words of a coworker, it was as if he was being judged in a contest to give the least amount possible without the customer noticing. To me, however, it was clearly obvious, and I certainly did not feel satisfied after finishing my meal.
Also, forget about online ordering at this location. I once attempted to order a late 1:30pm lunch, and the first available pickup time was 3pm. It's no wonder that other Yelpers have had issues with this usually convenient option.
The two locations I have been to in New Jersey simply blow this location out of the water. Stick with another location or, better yet, go to Taqueria Tehuitzingo on 9th Ave and 41st St.
