This is a nice, quick place to get salads. They have a large variety of salads to choose from, but you can make your own customized salad too. We came here for dinner, so there was no wait. I liked being able to customize everything about my salad, from toppings to dressing to how much dressing. Of course, they chop everything up and toss it at the end.
Have been eating out the whole weekend hence decided to give a try on something simple and fresh; chop't popped up my mind since I always came to this area for either roast kitchen or cosi. A long line at noon so I will remember to come by earlier next time.
There are three sections inside the place to split up the line – smart move! As a first timer, I went with their palm beach with shrimp. Less than 300 calories to nail down my lunch! I substituted the balsamic vinaigrette sauce to chipotle which was supposed to be a bit spicier and I liked it a lot.
I guess it's time for me to update my FB status to be – eating like a rabbit!
A few weeks ago I started a new job uptown and consequently tried this Chopt. Previously, I used to lunch at the location near Union Square, which was closer to my old office.
As expected, at about 1:30 pm the line was out the door. It took about 20 minutes, for me to reach the counter.
My usual favorite salad was the Mexican Ceasar with the Spa Tex Mex dressing, so I ordered it. To be completely honest, the ingredients just weren't as fresh and the service was just not as good as at the Union Square location. The topping scoops also seemed a little skimpy. Definitely not a horrible experience, but not as great as I was expecting.
I'll probably go back though (it was still one of the best lunch salads i grabbed in the neighborhood).
As many of you know, I love Chop't. I think that its a super innovative company, and its more than "Just Salad" (haha, get it?). After consistently getting salad, I decided to switch it up with a grain bowl. I got the 7 Summits without cheese, making it totally vegan! To be honest, it was a great combo, especially with some lemon juice – it was just really refreshing and honestly full of awesome superfoods. Quinoa, kale, and sweet potato make a great combination and you don't really end up feeling too heavy after, but completely satisfied and ready to get on with your day.
I think that Chop't really is awesome in that they give you pre-designed salads that they know most people would generally enjoy. You can also alter it to your liking, which is even better and very well suited for people on different diets, since they have so many toppings and salad dressings, there is one for everybody.
As for this location, the line around 1PM wasn't too bad. Obviously, you'd have to expect the usual lunch rush, but I probably only waited 10 minutes before being served which wasn't too bad.
I really liked this place. Had the Mexican salad with hot chicken…outstanding. Open late for some healthy eats. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wish we had one in St Louis.
Great salads, and excellent choices for salad dressing.
If you go during lunch hours you WILL be standing in line, but they're always working hard at trying to minimize your wait-time.
Salads are consistently good, though their seasonal salads have been lacking a little creativity.
I'm definitely a fan.
I know a lot of people like this spot for lunch, but it's just ok to me. Nothing really special, just basic salad, and personally, I don't like the "chop't" concept of smashing all the items in my salad into baby food. Plus, I hate feeling of being herded through the restaurant in lines when it's busy. Much better and more unique salads can be found at the French-type Macaron Cafe nearby.
So long as you don't have any potential food allergies to anything someone before you might have ordered and if you trust the water in the tong bucket is clean and uncontaminated… I would say this place is fine. I still have half a salad left and am uber full. $7.57 salad (spinich + 4 ingredients). Apparently if you get there and order before noon, you get a free ingredient (not on the meats list).
