  1. This is fast salad. Our, it would be fast salad if the lines weren't so freakin' long. It seems like everyone comes here are you can see why.

I come to Rye Brook to visit family and this is a frequent lunch destination because it seems healthy. Of course, your can put enough junk in to make it unhealthy. But, you feel good about yourself as your address doing it.

Lots of fresh ingredients in general. Many different greens that can be mixed and matched. The toppings are excellent. But, what makes this place different is the chopping

My personal recommendation is that you (1) ask for the dressing on the side or tell them to stop or you will get too much, and (2) watch the chopping like a hawk and tell them when to stop. If you let them go, you don't get the individual chunks. It isn't quite a puree of salad, but another 30 seconds will get you there.

I wish that Chopd was near me in Boston.  I would be there a lot.

  2. Um, so yes I heart this chain. I mean I really love it like, a lot. They have the big salad. Like big everything like Seinfeld big salad worthy. The first time I visited, I was in DC. We needed a quick and light lunch before a wedding starting in like an hour. Boom. Enjoyed. The second time I visited was near my office in NYC. That site was a bit more meh due to being crowded, smaller and dirtier. This past experience, brought the leafy love back to me.

All salads have their calories listed which is totally useful and used by me. I typically go with the Santa Fe Cob with their spa tex mex ranch that has a whopping 45 calories and tastes amazing. This time, I went with their new souvlaki chicken salad with spa yogurt dressing. Amazing with big blocks of fresh Feta, romaine, chicken. So large that I couldn't finish it and it rang in at a little less then 500 calories with dressing and all. It seems like a lot calories but honestly, the salad is so large and keeps you satisfied for like the day.
This place is cleaner than most other locales I have been to: large, great reggae music playing and extremely helpful and nice employees. The $9 salad was worth every bite and this is one chain I'll look to again and again for one bangin' salad.

  3. I'm not a salad person and have never been a big fan of it until I discovered this place. I love how they chop your salad to the tiniest piece possible!!! You get to chose whatever ingredients and dressing you want, blah blah blah. Good selection of ingredients/toppings and the dressings are really tasty!
Ordered 2 salads tonight and only had to pay for 1 since we have the chopt frequent card which gets you a free salad after the 9th one. It's free so make sure you sign up! Really good deal since this place ain't cheap.

  4. Honestly, the salad here today was… pretty meh.  I had the Mexican Caesar.  I guess I expected the flavor to be kind of stronger.  And actually the first time I went here I asked for a Caesar wrap and they put chicken in it.  That was a disaster, because I'm vegetarian.  Really bad experience on that one.  Unfortunately, it was part of a large group order, so neither did I go there nor could I do anything about it.  This time around as well, I went there because some colleagues wanted to go.  I guess it's fine if you just want to eat something light, but my salad was just OK.  May have to try some other options next time.

  5. i had seen this growing salad chain around a few other metropolitan areas and it popped up here in rye brook. glad to have stopped in.

you walk in, big menu board on the wall. so many choices. pick out a pre designed salad or make up your own from a large selection of ingredients. i had one of the daily special salads (roasted moroccan cobb salad with farro, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, romaine and spinach) and liked it very much. charmoula vinaigrette was also very flavorful. salad wasn't cheap, but the ingredients were top notch and fresh. line moved pretty quick, but i think a lot of other salad-goers were confused about how the whole process worked.

if you like salads, this place is great.

  6. If I could go here everyday, I would.  It's that good.  And healthy!

You pick everything yourself, from lettuce, to mix ins, to protein, to dressing.  They whip it all together in a big metal bowl, and chop it until you say 'when'!

Very healthy, and fresh – since there is always a line they must be constantly restocking the bar.

If you're not up for a decision, they have a bunch of pre-designed recipes they will throw together for you.

Worth the wait in line.  Everyday.
