The food isn't amazing, but it's not bad either. It's your typical stop for Indian snacks. I ordered the pau bhaji which was good, but the flavor was pretty bland. There's other restaurants in the area that are much better.
It had beeen a relaxing Saturday; I decided to hit Oak Tree Road with friends who were visiting NJ for an Indian food treat. I usually head to the Dimple fast food place and hardly feel the need to experiment. Turns out Saturday night are Indian family outing time and there was an hour wait (complete with a wireless buzzer at my usual place).
We decided this was a sign for us to experiment and try new places around in the vicinity. I discovered 3 Dimple restaurant and each had at last half hour wait. Our hunger pangs forced us into an empty Chowpatty. This place had pleasant interiors reflecting the namesake beach side snack centers in Mumbai. Also turns out the menu was not just Mumbai street fanfare but also included North Indian, South Indian and Gujarati food. We ordered items to cover the variety on offer and I must emphasize that every item turned out to be disastrous – chat, dosas, sambhar, curries- everything. The service was unprofessional Only the vada pav was not a total disappointment.
We were also told at the end that 'We accept All cards' boards we incorrect. They do not accept Amex and that their system does not allow them to split checks at all !
A lesson learnt the hard way. I will always wait at the crowded joints and enjoy my Indian food nights. Till then….. stay away from Chowpatty !
Great Indian food! It's vegetarian and doesn't disappoint. Their dosas are great, love the one with spices and the potato filling is flavorful. I usually always get their samosa chaat as well, with a mango lassi. Pretty cheap, and filling!
Our most recent trip to Edison wound up here so my wife could get her dosa fix.
The dosa is quite good, as good as any I've had in the states. I enjoyed the Samosa Chaat with the samosa being perfect in its consistency.
I thought it was slightly expensive for what you get in the end but that's not uncommon with these restaurants.
Taste-wise, absolutely no complaints.
