  1. I can't say enough of greatness about this place.  Easter brunch: fantastically delicious and unpretentious in beautifully designed space (they even have birch tree trunks as part of their wall, and amazingly stunning mirrors and details that make you feel like you are in south of Europe on vacation, I'll take that imagination any day).  Some words are to be said about service, which was beautifully elegant, yet honest and are you ready for this?  Me the cupcake hater, had one of their freshly prepared cupcakes, and I am a believer, so fresh, so moist, with raspberries on bottom, never mind the festive display!  And it GETS better, I know you don't think it could, but it does. As you entered, you were able to say hello or goodbye depending on which tail of the meal you were, to a cute live bunny!!!  Oh yeah and I haven't even mentioned the food yet, well delicious wonderfully prepared grilled octopus, and steak salad, and wine, I tell you, if I could do this daily, I would. So go, be happy in this oasis!

  2. I came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner with my roommates. The space is tiny but very cozy – it feels like something straight out of Italy. There was only one free table, which I thought was impressive for a random weeknight. I'm assuming this is a go-to neighborhood spot.

The food was awesome, I had the pasta special (spaghetti, alfredo sauce and mixed mushrooms). It was delicious. Wine was a little pricy, no options under $10 a glass. Loved this place though! Highly recommend for an authentic Italian meal and feel!

  3. I had a bad feeling when we started with the lobster bisque and it didn't have any of the richness and creaminess of usual lobster bisque. Also, there were no real pieces of lobster in it. Hmm, we'll see how the rest of this meal goes. Spoiler alert, not good.

The ladies both had the bolognese (almost as basic italian as you can get) and were not impressed. It was just kind of fine, nothing special, no depth of flavor. For a $18 lunch portion they expected better. For me, I had the tagliolini neri, black pasta with calamari and shrimp. Shrimp were overcooked, and the pasta didn't have much flavor. I had to drop a parmesan bomb on it to make it taste anything worth eating.

We simply were not impressed with the experience or food we had.

  4. I came here for lunch and sat outside. Inside the atmosphere is very cool. Outside the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. The service was pretty good.

I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered the horseradish crusted salmon over spinach in a carrot orange sauce. The sauce was so light and fresh! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the horseradish crust was delicious. The spinach was full portioned. It tasted healthy but scrumptious. Very good.

I tasted my boyfriends dish which was lamb ravioli. Not too shabby! They have homemade pastas.

We shared some wine too. They have a great selection. Not too much beer offerings though – just a few typical Italian ones.

I like how this restaurant is true Italian but with a slight modern touch.

  5. Adorable!!! The atmosphere here is just amazing! It's cute, little and very NYC. The service was great!

I enjoyed a BIG glass of wine (great price, 10$) and pene vodka which was delicious. The portion was a great size, I had plenty to take for lunch the next day!

  6. I've had brunch and dinner here 2 or 3 times since summer started.  It's in a good location and the restaurant itself is quaint with nice outdoor seating. Try the penne aka vodka (which apparently is a crowd favorite). It's very flavorful and creamy.  The servers are really nice and attentive. The second time I visited, they asked me and my friend if we can transfer to an indoor table to accommodate a big group that wants the outdoor seating.  We gladly agreed and they give us 1 round of FREE COCTAILS plus the countless times they apologized with every eye contact.

  7. Delicious Italian place. Came for brunch and every single entree was fabulously tasty (and I'm pretty picky).  Came for a family celebration, got drinks and dessert too…everyone was happy. Portions on the smaller side. Great service.

  8. Compared to other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, Cibo has better food. I'm not blown away by it, but at least it was decent. I ordered the Tagliatelle all a Bolognese (traditional Italian Ragù with meat sauce) and my companion ordered the lasagna. My pasta was well cooked and the meat sauce was delicious and there was enough of it. Dessert was ok, we had the apple streudel with vanilla ice cream. Wine was decent, not a lot of choices by the glass. The food menu was also limited, not a lot to choose from. Service was a bit slow, but I think they have a more relaxed vibe here. The interior and exterior of this place is adorable. Romantic and charming. Great for a date.
