  1. 8 of us went it Citrus last night and we all liked it.  The space is small, in a mini-strip of stores across from Shop Rite.  We did not get a chance to try the buffet, as it was only available at lunch on Sundays (not dinner).  Five of us got there first, so we ordered the garlic chili naan, while waiting for the other three.  WOW… the naan was definitely the best I've ever had, with an awesome texture and fresh garlic taste, complimented with the hot chili… It was sooo good, but we also ordered a regular garlic naan (also great) for the ones who didn't want the hot chili.  We ordered a selection of Indian and Thai dishes.  I had the butter goat masala which was great, and my GF got a vegetarian dish w/ pineapple and nuts and she liked it. I tried someone else's pad Thai and it was good.  This is four stars for the area, which does not have a lot of  good ethnic food options.

  2. I was surprised to see this little restaurant by Caldwell… i could not imagine that it was so busy!! service was great, and the food is great also…
we don't know what to order, so we tried a lamb dish and chicken tike marsala.. the lamb dish was so spicy… don't get my wrong… it's so good, just a little too spicy… i love it!! the tike marsala is a little sweet, so it balance it out well… the nan bread… oh man, it's so delicious.. i think i can eat that all day long… dipping it to the marsala sauce… oh man…
it was a great meal, and will go back try more next different variety next time

  3. The community should recognize that Citrus Restaurant, while a convenient delivery choice, should not be setting the bar for Indian food.  I ordered delivery from Yelp and I have to say that the delivery was timely and I did enjoy the overall meal.  What appalls me is that Citrus Restaurant uses that processed chicken in their chicken tikka masala.  I can tell because the chicken chunks (and they really are chunks) are hard and the edges are squared-off.  It may be acceptable for Subway to use the processed chicken, because nobody expects quality food from Subway, but it is completely unacceptable to use processed chicken in Indian cuisine.  I also found the daal to oddly have little pieces of bean in it?  I thought it was supposed to be lentils?  And the yogurt seems too watered down.

I'm giving 3 stars, because the sauces had good flavour, the portion size was great and I had an overall good delivery meal that was delivered promptly.

  4. Small little Indian restaurant with awesome food. We started with the Dosa appetizer which was huge and can feed 3 or 4 people. It is basically a potato stuffed crepe with a curry dipping sauce on the side. I highly recommend if you are really hungry! We also ordered the Chicken Kundapur, the Malabar Lamb and the Chicken Tikka Saag. All were DELICIOUS, tasted just right – not too much spice nor bland.  We also had a side of garlic naan which was the best garlic naan I've ever tasted! I've been to Indian places where they just throw garlic on top of the naan and it slips right off. Not this place – it's cooked inside the naan and its coated on the outside. They are also more generous with protein portions than most places and are reasonably priced!

  5. What a total surprise! Not much more than a proverbial "hole in the wall," Citrus provides excellent food, with attentive service. The tables are immaculately appointed, with gleaming glasses and utensils. The buffet, although not large, provides a good variety of carefully prepared dishes, filled with  Indian and Thai flavors.

Even their small and simple salads are rich with fresh herbs and aromatic spices. None of the items was oversauced, and the papadums and chapati were fresh and delicious.

My only suggestion, is that they create a more eqyitable balance between Indian and Thai selections on the buffet.

  6. Really nice restaurant with a buffet. Variety isn't as large as the place closer to me, but it's good and fresh. They have some really great flavors, and I like being able to get fish on the buffet.

The place is incredibly tiny, though, so it gets very crowded at lunch. Still, it's a fun place and worth the visit.  The thai basil fish was excellent, as was the chicken tikka masala.

Parking is a hassle because the front of the lot fills up.
