  1. City Island had always been a part of my history. Growing up, I attended school on the island at St. Mary's Star of the Sea and I have always been a lover of all things seafood so, I thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the many restaurants the island has to offer.

My favourite as a child was Sea Shore, a staple after all of my big school events, where my family and I enjoyed broiled lobsters and snow crab legs. As I got older, my friends and I would go down to Tony's Pier or Johnny's Reef at the very tip of the island and order up some fried shrimp and strawberry daiquiris. During my time working in the Bronx, we would take lunch trips to Seafood City for henny coladas and seafood platters.

Now, I go to Archie's Tap and Table (formerly known as Sugar and Spice) for some very well-prepared local eats, paying homage to my elevated palate.

City Island is a great destination if you're trying to be active. You can easily bike, jog or walk here from Co-op City, Pelham Bay Park or any of the surrounding areas. That makes for a fulfilling day out and about.

  2. Great place to come for some great seafood and Italian cuisine.

My favorite place in City Island is of course , Sammy Fish and Shrimp Box.

My only complaint is those horrible potholes after you get off the bridge. NYC you must fix that asap. Blowing out peoples tires .
