Free tours and $10 tastings of potato vodka and moonshine (unaged corn whiskey) means you should pay a visit to the Claremont distillery. Chris the head distiller explained the process of coaxing yummy spirits from potato flakes: mixing in the 30 barrel mash tun, sitting 3 days in the fermentation tanks, then going thru the pot and column stills, filtration system and finally the cute little bottling machine.
They brew & distill about once a week now. Soon they'll be taking delivery of a whiskey still, just please don't ask me to explain how that differs from a pot or column still lol.
Vodka flavors are plain, blueberry and peach. Plain was extra smooth. White lightning is available in plain (liked it) and cinnamon (apple pie).
