  1. Finally…some decent thai food near my new home!  Coming from Dallas, I was always on a mission to find the best Thai food in Dallas, and I had plenty of options to try out.  I have had 2 other Thai spots in NJ and have yet to find something that really is truly good with spicy drunken noodles!  Clifton Thai was the place for me.  I ordered thru GrubHub as soon as they opened at 11:30am….about 35-40 minutes later the food was already at my doorstep.  I got drunken noodles level 8, grilled chicken dumplings, and thai iced tea.  Everything was authentic thai food and the spice level was just to my liking.  I cannot wait to eat the leftovers!  Next time I am looking forward in trying the Pad Se Ew!

  2. Four stars.

First time coming to a Thai restaurant in almost a year. We usually cook Thai cuisines at home. We were immediately greeted by the staff upon entering the restaurant, and were promptly seated.

We ordered pad thai, red snapper, and thai tea. The service was quick and the foods were all delicious and full of Thai spices. Four stars because in overall, the foods were a little bit too sweet. It could have been that I've cut down on sugar in my recent diets.

    This place is BYOB.

  3. Excellent Thai food at par with some of the best in NYC and the friendliest service ever. Kid friendly. Very affordable. Love this place. The Clifton downtown where this restaurant is located is like something from the 60s if you don't live around here. Don't let that turn you off.

  4. This place is a little hole in the wall in Clifton and definitely worth a visit! I would give it a 4.5/5. The food and service here are awesome. The owner was working the night we came in and was constantly checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. They were offering free hot tea that day since it was freezing outside!

We got the Spicy Basil Thai Chicken and Red Curry. They had a spice level option of 1-10 and we went with the 10 (spiciest) to test our taste buds. Generally a spice level of 10 at most places is not really that spicy, but this place is true to it's word. The plates packed a good amount of heat and you should only get a 10 if you can truly handle spicy food. Both the Basil Thai Chicken and Red Curry were great. They had great flavors and consisted of fresh ingredients. I liked the Basil Thai Chicken slightly more than the Red Curry but both were really good. If I were to rate this place on only food I would definitely give it 5 stars.

The only reason I would give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the seating. The dining area is very small and any time someone opens the door you feel the gust of wind come in. The tables are also a bit cramped and close to one another, but the food makes up for it!

  5. The drunken noodles are pretty good here. You can order on grubhub, so it makes it much easier. The quality goes up and down. Very reliable delivery service. Not the best drunken noodles or pad thai, but they get the job done.

  6. I have eaten at really good Thai spots so I was skeptical with this place. The food is delicious! The Tom Yum Shrimp soup was perfect for this cold and rainy day. The pad Thai tofu was very fresh and the tofu was perfectly fried. I would definitely recommend Clifton Thai to others. Will be ordering here again.

  7. Best Thai I have EVER had. We had the Tom Yum Soup ($4) with shrimp. So flavorful with big pieces of shrimp, around five or six pieces of shrimp. The right amount of sour and spice accompanied by fresh vegetables. The curry puffs ($5), five pieces, fried to a golden perfection. I had the drunken noodles with shrimp (around $12), these are not the typical greased down noodles at average thai places, the noodles were not greased down and so flavorful with the right bite. Again, beautiful, deveined shrimp  with vegetables that were colorful and still held some crisp because it is fresh and not weighed down heavily by sauce and grease. The seafood combination fried rice (around $12) was delicious with pineapples tossed in. The major reason I like this place is because for most of their menu you are able to choose the degree of spice on a scale of 1-10. Lastly, they gave free tea. Not the tea in most restaurants but you are able to choose from a variety of teas and you can see the tea bag. We chose Jasmine and Chai. What a great discovery in Clifton.

  8. I have eaten here since the day they opened. I'm a big regular, even the owner knows my name! I generally always love to get the fried rice… Eat here and you will not be disappointed. 🙂
