From their farm to my belly!
Thank you Cogman's for choosing our area to settle down in. Visited today and really dig the setup. Tons of unique prepared food (salads, etc), awesome sandwich menu, and a great butcher/meat selection.
Perfect spot for me to pick up something fresh to throw on the grill on the way home from work (briskets, porterhouse, whole chickens, tenderloins, Ribeyes, NY Strip, T-Bone, Skirt, lamb, veal, and more).
I saw some pictures from the owner of his family farm in VT where the meat comes from…..300 PLUS acres with 80 happy cattle, 100 healthy hogs and free to run chickens breathing the fresh Vermont clean air.
I asked for 4 center cut pork chops, I couldn't believe my eyes when he want back in the fridge and came out with a WHOLE PIG and cut the chops fresh off the hog. HOW COOL IS THAT! Instead of those cuts being exposed to the air for days or weeks as in the stop and shop they were cut fresh as fresh can be.
It is so hard to find meat that is not from an antibiotic/hormone driven factory farm so it is so nice that these guys drive 6 hours each way to bring us some wholesome nutrition. I'll pay a few extra bucks for that…..
Very warm atmosphere, nice people, and a great product. NOICE!!!!!
There isn't a butcher shop for miles so I was pretty excited to see this store open in Butler. Of course then I drove past it every day for the past month saying "I have to remember to stop in". Finally dropped in yesterday to pick up some steaks for dinner and glad I did. Small place that does sandwiches as well but had a really nice selection of items. I was getting Filet Mignon for 3. Gentleman behind the counter was nice and very helpful. Got me my steaks, cut them and wrapped to go.
These might have been the best steaks I have ever cooked at home. Meat was tender as can be. Quite a bit better then the ones I normally get at the grocery store – and to be honest not that much more expensive.
Highly recommend you stop by and give them a try. You won't pay a lot more but man the beef was fantastic. I will be back for sure.
