Cold Stone Creamery

  1. I have personally worked at this exact Cold Stone location before and at others with my total CS work experience totaling over three years. So, yes, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to Cold Stone.

Cold Stone is fattening. Get the Like It size! Don't get the Love it or the Gotta Have It because honestly, that is TOO MUCH ice cream for one sitting. If you're gona take it home, then go for it, but if you're heading to the movies across the street, go for the smallest size. Heck, go for a kids scoop even!

Watch what you put in there. Not every damn topping needs to go in there. I've seen people throw in four toppings into a Like It. They'll peruse the mix ins and just see something and add it. All mix ins don't go with each other!

Yes, the smoothies are amazing. Try them! (:

All in all, Cold Stone is yummy, but it's really fattening and expensive. I wouldn't come here frequently and I wouldn't get big sizes. The cakes are really good here and you can special order cakes and have specific unique designs added to them. Go for the BetterCream over the Ganache on your cake. BetterCream is sooooo yummy.

And for christ sake, if you're going to tip, TIP! Pennies on the dollar = not a tip. If you can shell out $15 for some ice cream, you sure as hell can tip a buck.

  2. Now I know why I never came back since the last time I was here. The ice cream is so bad… Maybe it's just this location but man is the ice cream here aweful. You're paying about $5-10 depending on the size you get and you are getting some of the worst ice cream you'll ever taste. I came here after watching a movie across the street knowing it was a bad idea to come here but I came anyway.   And I regret it so much.

I ordered the signature "the pie who loved me": cheese cake, Oreo, graham cracker, and vanilla ice cream. Sounds nice but tasted God aweful. The ice cream was sour, the kind of sour that tastes spoiled. The cheesecake was nonexistent… Might as well just call t Oreo ice cream. The ice cream texture was like butter and left behind this terrible oil feel in your mouth. Took 2 bites and threw it out (the second bite was wishful thinking, maybe I'll like it the second time I try… Nope)

If you know cold stones then you know they are known for mixing your ice cream infront of you. I tell you now it's NOT that fascinating and the ice cream is not worth it at the end. Here's a tip: save yourself some trouble and money by going to a supermarket, buy a tub of generic ice cream, add whatever toppings you like and mash it up then you'll have "cold stones"….

    I'm never coming back.

Two stars for service. Our ice cream server was very nice.

  3. It's a comfortably cool (temperature-wise) place to enjoy your ice cream. With wooden tables far from the counter and a large space in between the two. With a view outside, it's comfortable. I personally prefer Mister Softee (with that note, not sure if they serve soft ice cream because when you order the initial presentation are the ice cream in the bins) or Haagen-Dazs but that's opinion as a preface…moving on…now that their hype has died down and they no longer have super energized staff sing and cheer and greet like when they were trendy you can focus on the ice cream. I didn't see it being molded in front of me, is that maybe because I didn't add topping to mine. I'm not a regular to Cold Stone, matter of fact, I have no sweet tooth but every once in a while it kicks in. But I do remember once Cold Stone use to take your ice cream and fold in toppings. Nothing wrong with the staff or service, she was patient with me as I decided and browsed. Her service was on point with only her managing the ice cream and cash register, while other staff did their thing in back. No customers were in there except two kids that bought and left.

Their ice cream is thick, goop-like in consistency and sticks. Sweet but not over the top sweet. The Cookie Dough ice cream really tasted like ice cookie dough! I ordered the Mocha which had a really rich and bit of darkness to it, I chose that over the coffee. None of the approximate 20 toppings were added, no waffle cone, I just had a small in one of those paper cups. And as it melted, still darn good Mocha syrup.

There's a big sign that says: Why wait? Call Ahead! 718-891-1114

  4. The first time I had COLD STONE ICE CREAM was right at this very branch and so was my second time!  I recall both times eating it before catching a movie next doors at Regal UA and both times just hit the spot.  True, the ice cream is a bit more pricier than other places but ya gotta admit that the quality is so worth it.  I definitely do not mind sharing a LOVE IT size of the signature *Strawberry Blonde* wit my HunHun! =)

    Sizes are as follows:
Like It  (Small 5 oz ) – for 1 person
Love It  (Medium 8 oz) – for 2-3 people
Gotta Have It  (Large 12 oz ) – for 3-5 people

  5. I came here on a Sunday night and the line was out of control.
The wait was at least a solid 25 minutes and there just wasn't sufficient staff to handle the mass amount of crowds that are there. How can you be mad at the two employees handling so many customers??

The ice cream is your standard cold stone creamery! Which is pretty awesome! If you've never been to one its the magical place where you get to create your own ice cream contraption by choosing a signature flavor… for me personally its the sweet cream and birthday cake that win over my heart and mix in any type of toppings from strawberries to crunch bar on a marble slab. Its pretty amazing as a late night unhealthy treat.

They are located right outside the movie theater so its a good place to eat a sweet treat and not have to worry about parking. Its not the best seating inside so take the icecream elsewhere…They have about 5 tables inside.

Overall the icecream is pretty awesome and creamy 5/5 for awesome icecream.
Service, and decor are far beyond lacking….

  6. I love Cold Stone's!  Unfortunately, there's not that many in Brooklyn and the closest one to me at this period in time was the one near Knapp Street by the TGIF's (which has valet parking?!) and UA Theaters.  This is a really great place if you're watching a movie in the summer and you end up in Cold Stone's.  They blast the AC here, it's perfect.  Plus outside seating if you enjoy that, it's right by the water which is nice.

This Cold Stone is like any other, it's a tad bit expensive, but they mash up creamy creamy ice cream with your favorite flavors.  Unfortunately, this place is kinda populated with teenagers and young kids.  The line also tends to move kind of slow, but honestly, Cold Stone's is great in the summer!
