  1. The BEC on croissant here might just be the best thing I've eaten in Washington Heights. I realize there's a generous amount of butter involved, but that makes it better and the whole thing is perfectly cooked. The owners, Tom and Billy, are really nice and happy to talk shop with you. Good coffee, though not Taszo-level – but that's an easy fix. Worth making the trip!

Update 4/2016: the almond croissants are excellent (they have marzipan inside!) and the egg sandwich is as good as ever. It's a lot more crowded here now – I guess the word has gotten out!
